bmcmil2:

While I had ACCT701 with Ambrosio, it was all cengagenow. I'd imagine it's the same basic course even with a different teacher.

If you at all remember financial accounting or had BADM700 this course is a cake walk. I wish I had doubled up with another course.

It's definitely a class that you can work a vacation or two around. I took a week off in the middle of this course with no problems.

Her grading is not consistent. She is not available at all. Lots of extra reading. The worse class that I have had because she doesn't teach and do not care.

I still need to take MKT 701. Debating whether to bite the bullet SUM AP1 with Karen James or wait until Fall AP1. I will take it solo either way but the Fall AP1 has the Instructor: tba... that's sort of promising.

I personally liked Karen James a lot. She is very caring and I learned a great deal from her.

Good info socal77. Thanks. I wasn't implying that she wasn't but it seems to be unanimous that MKT701 is the most demanding of time of all the classes in the program.

Just wondering if program history dictates that a change in instructors would mean different workload or if they just all follow the same structure.

So far this class we haven't been able to preview unless they are finalized (at least for me). He sent out an email recently saying they are finalized.

I guess I could go back through all these 61 pages and find this answer but I am lazy on this Thursday as I try to sneak in the Masters live stream at work!

Would anyone advise AGAINST pairing ACCT 701 and MADM 701???

That is what I am looking at doing for Summer AP1. I could wait and pair ACCT 701 in the Fall with FIN 720. Not sure what would be the best route.

Thanks in advance.

wolfpack asked recently about doubling these and I think it was Paul Allen said no way.

I need to double up these same 2 either Summer AP1 or Fall AP1 to finish by the end of the year. My background is accounting so I'm not too worried about that one. Let me know what you decide.

I think I will heed PaulAllen advice and not pair. He has been right on many things about this program that I have experienced now.

I guess I will wait and pair ACCT 701 with FIN 720 in Fall AP1.

BADM700 might be a cakewalk if you've ever been introduced to accounting haha. Nothing remotely similar to my biochemistry background so its taking a long time to get through the book (albeit I have 100% on all hmwk and 99% on the exam). It's still not what I would call "easy".

It's nothing like mammalian endocrinology or eukaryotic molecular bio, but its a lot of new info for someone who hasn't had an introduction to this type of program.

I was actually coming on here to ask if anyone has excel templates for the Financing chapters, specifically for calculating PV, FT, FVA.

Thanks!

There's always a possibility that a professor other than Dr. James could make MKT 701 less time demanding. But I would say that's highly unlikely.

We know James is great with giving support and guidance to her students and have no idea if the other professor would be as good. So my advice is to take it with James.

I am talking Business Analytics as my first class in this summer. But little confused about it.MBA student guide says
"BADM 790 is the Graduate Seminar in Business course". Is it really a seminar class or just like any other classes like "Financial Management FIN 701 " ? Do you have any more info about it ?

Anyone else in MADM715 feel sorry for Dr. Amy Wren?

She really has her hands full with this class. She is a lot more polite than I would be in answering some of these questions. Bet she wishes she didn't assign the BSRF project.

PGanapa, I'm going to take BADM 790 as well in the summer. The proofessor, Dr. Mohamad Darrat, has very good reviews on RateMyProfessor.com
