How much did the state pay to movie companies? What is the actual number of dollars that left the states account and was sent to the film industry?
Posted on 6/21/14 at 4:50 pm to I B Freeman
No one argues that it is not corporate welfare.
You go far beyond that in your arguments.
So, like I said, just because WSJ referred to LA in calling tax credits corporate welfare, don't act that they are confirming all of your suppositions.

I'll leave that to you BBONDS25. You know. You are simply cranking me.

Just reading the paper WeeWee. It is a Saturday edition.
No. It's not. Read your own link. It's a Friday edition. The 20th. Today, Saturday, is the 21st.

It came out in the Saturday print edition Zach. Send me $10 and I will mail it to you.

Louisana gives filmmakers 30-35% of their expenses-

No need. I already read it for free at Starbucks. You need to go there, Moon.

What do you call writing checks for 85% of $250 million? (that is what the state is committed to do if the holder does not sell all his credits to somebody else)
You want me to just start calling it check writing?
Call it anything but spending. Spending implies the money was always the state's - it's our money we give them for services rendered.
If SPENDING is giving tax money back to us...then I'm all for the state spending away.

No.
Because I know how closemindedly you approach this topic, and I have far better things to do with my Saturday than to play this tired game.

So you don't know how much, if any, actual checks were written from the state?

If not for the filmmakers they could give $250 million a year back to us.
It was the state's money. Who do you think gave the state the money to write the checks to the filmmakers??
I can't believe I am having this discussion.

You can't find an example that puts the WSJ at odds with anything I have posted PARTICULARILY since they referenced the La Budget Project report.

See? That's what I am talked about.
The close minded disingenuous nature you approach this topic with.
I didn't say that the article disagreed with anything you said.
I simply said that they didn't say 90% of what you do, and yet you are acting like they just validated your entire stance.

My stance is simple. It is out and out welfare.
Now just about every other thing I have posted about this concerns proving it is welfare and/or explaining why it is welfare poorly spent. Both points the WSJ made.
If I didn't have to argue with people about such stupid things as to how you define spending or if filmmakers get EBT cards then these threads would be restricted to how hypocritical it is for conservatives to support such corporate welfare--another point the WSJ makes.
What should my mind be open too?? It is simple fact. Nothing else.

You keep saying the state wrote checks. How much did these checks amount to?

I am not taking the time to wade through the auditors report tonight BBONDS. You do it.
Posted on 6/21/14 at 5:46 pm to I B Freeman
Shouldn't it be a pretty straight forward number. You are certainly passionate about the issue. It would seem obvious you would want to know the actual numbers. Unless of course it isnt really about the numbers.....

You're just lazy, Moon. Give it up. You hate Jindal because he wouldn't come on your stupid radio show.
