Vehicle help - 2007 Toyota Tacoma

Morning everyone!
I have a 2007 Tacoma and the other day my console lid latch broke and I am needing to find a new latch.
The latch must have something on the back that clips into the console lid and I believe that it has either just worn down or broken off. I opened the lid to get my pistol out and the latch and spring just shot out. I found the spring finally and was able to put it back in but I just have to remember to keep a finger on it until I close the lid.
Trying to find a latch online somewhere. Anyone here own a Tacoma and have dealt with this before?

What's the deal with all of the pens?

Are you drinking Jager on your way to work?

You have a lot of pens and a lot CDs. Try the dealership parts desk. They'll hook you up and since its small then you'll be out for less than a 20 spot.

Yeah, unless you really want to search the net and get it shipped the dealership will be quick and painless.
Shouldnt be that pricey.

Just some pens from work. I keep one in my pocket or in my shirt and I forget to put them back in my pen holder on my desk so I have just gotten a collection.

Nah. That has been in there for about 8 years. My friend's ex mother-in-law gave me that for Christmas one year.

I'll have to try that out. Didn't want to have to do that since it's all the way on the other side of town.

How many miles you got on that beast?

Mine did the exact same thing a few years ago. It's some cheap plastic in the latch that makes it pop out. You don't need to order the Toyota part for the fix, which would cost a lot more than doing it yourself. Took me about 10 minutes to do mine. It's still holding up fine. Seems a lot of people have had this problem.

As of right now a little over 97,000. A lot of trips to see the in laws in Mobile.

Yep, that's the route I'm going to go. Thanks for the link.

Hahahaha!!!! Not Toyota's Bro... I was a Parts Manager/Counterman for 10 years with them. We never sold replacement service parts for items like that (i.e. interior latches and trim pieces, etc...)
As someone else already posted, you'd have to buy a whole entire console lid assembly, which was $280.
I used to love the looks on people's faces when they'd come in for what they thought was a small, cheap part... Only to have the life sucked out of them by the price I'd quote them... This was especially true for exterior mirrors. Toyota didn't sell replacement parts for them at all. Broke glass? Had to buy the whole thing, and Toyota sells them pre-painted only. In the late 2000's when the mirrors started getting sophisticated with heaters, turn signals, sonar, etc, they started getting VERY pricey. I remember one for a Toyota Avalon was over $2k. Shocked the shite out of me the first time I looked one up...
Anyway... That's my CSB for the day.

No problem.. It's even easier to do than the article makes it seem. Once you take it apart, you will see what I mean.

So, you are stealing pens from work?

Negative. We get them printed by the case (2000 at a time) with our company logo, phone number, etc. and we use them at work and give them to customers, freight truck drivers, etc.
My boss grabbed a whole handful of them one time and told me to take some home since we have plenty.
