Snake ID Thread - Kill it or Save it

Found this guy swimming and floating in the pool. Appears to be a water snake, but wanted to get some expert opinions before I release a venomous snake.

Corn snake. Save perhaps sell for $$.
Eta: shape of head and tail and overall shape is easiest to tell at a glance but not foolproof. Shape of eyes is good if you are close enough.

Save and give your kids a show and tell. Show them the difference between non venomous(your snake) and venomous, get pictures from web.
