Do other buyers know something I don't? Anyway, gotta get in where you fit in. Gonna be a good season regardless and for the first time I won't have to worry about how I will come across tickets.
Someone may know better than me, but I think these tickets are visitor tickets that have opened up. I was in the section last year for one of the crap out of conference teams, and the tickets were sold individually bc the visiting team sent tickets back.

See I would have thought the TAF fees would have played into the upgrade process as well.
Yea, they realized though that people giving annually to TAF weren't moving anywhere on the list because those who had a large number of season tickets were just requesting more each year and flipping them.
The number of owners of the pool of tickets was actually decreasing each year.

Probably
ETA: Let me know if you decide to do that, I can lead you in the right direction and give you a guy's contact info. Great guy from TAF who's also my TAF guy. He can tell you how much money you need to give to put you where you wanna be and all kinds of good stuff.

End up getting some in 3 in 637 just behind the chair backs. Came out cheaper than 2 in lower bowl. Lower Bowl pairs ran out exactly 3 min before I had to choose and wife didn't want the piggy back seats.
I was going to get 2 in the SEZ but they ran out before I picked at 1 pm today. Ended up getting 4 in 630 on the aisle, 4 rows behind chair backs. I'm still pretty excited about it. Hopefully will be able to upgrade in a few years.

How was your time in these seats? I recently went in with some buddies for section 401 seats and curious as to how you enjoyed the view.

I'm curious too as I got 4 in 401. Was thinking not so bad because ground level entrance and the new big screens right there.

It had been 10 years since I was in Tiger Stadium. So I would have loved anywhere. That said I enjoyed it. I was satisfied with the view. Pure endzone maybe you see the play better? I wouldn't trade it for 50y upper deck. Although I have never been to the east upper.

Lol we are going to have a 401 group pretty soon.
Posted on 7/3/14 at 11:44 am to thelawnwranglers
I got 4 in 401. Friend got 4 right next to me and 4 more the row up. Seems a lot of us will be extremely happy or disappointed about our new found tickets.

Damn..y'all will have a good time at the big games. Y'all better be loud as shite and get the section fired up

I've never sat in 401, but I have sat in the lower south a few times. The first time I sat there, we were three rows from the top. I loved it because it poured that night and we were covered. And, at the time, there was no replay scoreboard, so I have no idea how obstructed the view would be now.
A couple years ago, I sat in 405 or 406 in row 8. It was a little too low for my taste.
For me, the best seats in the lower south would be the last row (from the top) that is covered by the overhang. In the lower south, I think you want to be as high up as possible, so long as you get a view of the replay scoreboard. I don't know what row that is, but I got seats four rows from the top which I'm sure is covered by the overhang, but I'm not sure what the view is going to be for the replay scoreboard. Hopefully, I'll have a decent view even if I have to lean over.

That's about the best row. I think that's the first row down that you can see the whole scoreboard and you are protected from Sun and Rain.

MMauler , Geaux99999 and Broham
I was in Tiger Stadium the other day. If I recall correctly, row 33 and down you can see the North scoreboard fine in sections 403 - 408.
In sections 401,402 and 408,409, Once again its Row 33 and below the North endzone scoreboard is visible. As for the 2 New Video boards in the SEZ Upper. 401,402 can see the SEZ-West video board. Sections 408,409 can see the SEZ-East video board. Really all you need to see is one of those.

Can all of these sections see one of the south scoreboards? The back rows surely can't huh? I'm having the worst time figuring out where to sit. Does anyone know if wbl3 row 5 is under the overhang?

*Below row 33 - Sections 401,402 or 408,408 can see one of the South video boards. But better view of the field
*Sections403-407 only row 26 0r 25 can see the South video boards, but only if u turn yourself around.

No, its not. But I wouldn't disqualify it for that reason.
*I would have got a pair of seats in WBL3 if they had some when i picked. But i got a pair to try out in Sec 402.
Posted on 7/7/14 at 9:48 pm to TigerDean
Just curious, how is the availability of pairs?

Was still good in uppers. Not many chair backs. I got mine today upper chair backs in 639. I'm pretty excited just to have season tickets.
With that being said I have a few stupid questions for the more experienced guys.
I think I got pretty lucky. I only joined the waiting list this year and donated 100 to TAF. That is my complete donation and I landed season tickets. I figured I would be waiting for several years. Anyways I purchased 2 season tickets today in sec 639 chair backs.
Does the TAF donation go towards my account?
What is the renewal process next year?
What are the odds of me getting better seats and more seats next year?
Do I need to join waiting list next year to renew?

Sort of. It was explained earlier in the string. As I recall, the "seat donations" only go towards away and bowl games eligibility. The other donations you make (e.g., the $100/yr for 3 points) goes towards upgrades and bowl and away games.

Same as this year. When you pay for your tickets, you will be asked if you want to pay $10 to get on the waiting list.

Slim and none. This year was a complete aberration because LSU took away 1,500 lower level seats from visiting fans and put them in the new upper south addition (WAY up there). Those 1,500 in the lower south were made available in this year's wait list and they were scooped up rather quickly. I was following it the first week and you could just see them going all day.
It's very unlikely that LSU will ever do that again as all teams try to give a certain amount of lower level seats to the opposing teams so that they can satisfy their big donors. LSU had already taken many lower level seats away from visiting teams when the East Upper was built, however, I believe those seats were given to the TAF rather than being open up to the waiting list. By law, there is a maximum number of lower bowl seats that the TAF can control, and I'm guessing that the TAF has reached its limit.
In any event, the result this year was that people in front of you got seats that they never would have gotten in the past which left chairbacks in the upper deck for you. But, it's doubtful you'll be able to move to the lower bowl any time soon, as this will probably never happen again. But, for $10/yr., it's always worth trying.
I've been giving the $100/yr donation for over a dozen years and the most/best I've ever been offered when it was my turn was singles in the South Upper.
Your best bet is to just keep giving the $100/year (or substantially more - like $5K if you want to move up sooner) and eventually you'll catch up with others who do that because donations/points roll off after 20 years.
quote:
Do I need to join waiting list next year to renew?
Yup. Just pay your $10 when you renew your tickets next year. It all starts over. Given the availability this year and the fact that each account holder can only have 8 tickets in their account, you never know.
