The NBA didn't record and release the tapes of Sterling, a third party did. All the NBA cares about is protecting its image and it's finances. Once there was a large backlash against Sterling then there was a contractual violation.

And the NBA can certainly file motions to prevent Sterling from using the legal discovery process to fish for dirt on the other owners.

he's not using discovery. he's using his own investigators

So, DS contract with the NBA was broken by the public and not by DS?
