HIs buyout after this year will be north of $1 million, decreasing every year after that.

LINK

He's by far the highest paid SBC coach. Looking at that list, smh at ULM

Pretty impressive that ULL is making that kind of investment into their athletics.

Just up to the new fans now. They say they are all diehards and this is there chance to prove it. Pack their stadium, instead of sitting outside tailgating, and the university can make a leap to the next level. If the fans stay inconsistent, they will probably lose Hud and revert back to where they were before he showed up.

winning the conference outright would back up this statement

Does that make him the third highest paid college coach in the state now?

Good for him, and good for UL-L. He's the main reason the cajuns are where they are in football. If he were to leave, it would not recover for a while. Glad they are able to extend his contract. A million dollars a year, he'll be living really nice in Lafayette.

Any hope of finding a way out of the SBC?

Just looking at the teams in the conference, I haven't done that in a while, and wow it's really bad. The old SBC was much more competitive in comparison.

quote:

Mark Hudspeth, UL, $950,000

Blake Anderson, Arkansas State, $700,000

Larry Blakeney, Troy, $480,000 (2013 amount)

Trent Miles, Georgia State, $450,000

Joey Jones, South Alabama, $435,000

Dennis Franchione, Texas State, $400,000

Paul Petrino, Idaho*, $390,000

Doug Martin, New Mexico State*, $363,000

Todd Berry, UL Monroe, $306,000

Willie Fritz, Georgia Southern*, $300,000

Scott Satterfield, Appalachian State*, $225,000

He's a really good guy who's a fantastic motivator. Happy for him and the Cajuns.

It's far and away the worst conference in FBS yet the highest paid coach in the conference can't seem to figure out a way to win it.

It's true though. He and the cajuns have yet to win the conference outright.
