Do you deny this?
Honestly, I realize your statement quoted above is just another attempt at deflection away from your earlier asinine statement. You commonly do that.
Now answer my earlier question: Are you under the impression Iraq did not have a central bank under Saddam's reign?

Then what the frick is the point of this thread other than to gather together to tug on each other's balls.
Allow me to explain the OP's question, since apparently he didn't get his point across or, more likely, most of you didn't actually read the OP and just saw the words Obama/Iraq/Blame and started shooting from the hip.
Bush Planned and implemented the withdrawal from Iraq.
Obama continued with Bush's plan.
Obama claimed full credit for the withdrawal.
The question is:
Will Obama now blame Bush for pulling out too early causing the current unrest in the country after he falsely claimed responsibility for the pullout?

You're missing a step in there... IIRC, the Iraqis BEGGED us to stay longer in order to stabilize things and Obama basically told them "frick you, we're going home."

Who do you think we went to war against in 1991 in Kuwait?
I honestly don't think he's ever heard of that one. And he has the nerve to call all of us clueless.
As my good friend LSURussian says, "It's about money. It's always about money."

And you honestly think the US, the rest of the world and Iraq would have been better off if we had left Hussein in power?
yup.
He was a threat to no one but his own countrymen.
He was a sick twisted frick.
But he did not represent a threat to this nation in any way.
We lost a lot of good people to take him down for no reason other then ego.

You're still deflecting which is how I always know when you realize you've been bitch slapped in a thread.

You certainly put that across more clearly than the OP, but it obscures whatever debate there is to be had. Obama took credit for completing the drawdown though it wasn't really his plan. Presumably he could have extended our presence if he were willing/able to push hard for a renewal of the SOFA. But he didn't. He pulled out and took credit for ending the war on Bush's timetable. Um, big whoop.
Now that Iraq has devolved into the near-unsalvageable clusterfrick that many saw coming as early as late 2003, the pertinent questions will be (1) how did we get here, (2) who's responsible, and (3) how do we avoid finding ourselves in Vietnam 4.0 in another 10 years time. Perhaps you can start a thread on that. Aside from the Iraqi government and the Sunni Islamists, it's pretty clear who the blame falls on (esp. WRT our country). But there are other issues to discuss.

Yep, as long as we fight wars with the intent of looking good as opposed to out-n-out winning the damn thing, we will always have mud on our face. IMO, we haven't fought a war to win since WWII.
I agree but you know why we try to look good instead of winning? The Liberal America does not want us killing women and children or the innocent. They force a change to the ROEs for the benefit of the enemy. The ROEs should favor the soldier but America is now too soft for that. Had we been allowed to fight like the greatest generation, the outcome would have been different. I saw plenty of American mothers and fathers who didnt come back because the enemy hid behind women and children and we couldnt fire back...Im glad it wont be me who has to explain to a child that they lost their parent because they werent allowed to shoot back....This country is too soft to win a war with the restrictions of the liberal agenda on our troops.

You don't RC. Our staying beyond 2011 was contingent upon te Iraqi parliament approving the version of the SOFA that provided our troops immunity from Iraqi courts. They balked. We walked.
frick 'em.

I don't want to start a new thread. My real question is what is going on with the American contractors that are still in the country providing support to the Iraqi military.

This.
I had plenty of friends who served there who were telling me what a nightmare that place was and predicted what would happen the moment we left. Most of those predictions are right on schedule.

I dont know which Iraqis you were speaking with but in 2004-05 and 09-10 they had no good things to say about him and were thankful that we got rid of him...And that came straight out of hundreds of average Iraqis mouths, not from media reports.

T.E. Lawrence is really the one we should be blaming here.

Oh for frick's sake.
By all means let's kill women and children because that will assure the population of any country we invade will support us.

No shite.
Iraq was a threat to no one but themselves.
10 years later this unstable bit of desert is ground zero for unrest throughout the region.
That is the legacy of George W Bush.
