Damn. Never knew it got that bad.

I probably would've too if I thought I'd pissed away as much he almost did.
I'm happy he's doing well, but i honestly think he cost us a championship the season he got booted. That wil always suck.

the guy was a touchdown swing with his ability to turn the ball over and return punts. We would have beaten Florida by 10, Bama by a couple, and then throttled Notre Dame.
Damnit. I won't let 2011 and'12 rest until Buga, Harris, and co restore order

It's tough he had to go through all that. Really puts football in perspective. I'm glad he got his second chance and is trying to help others.

I probably would have too

Tyrann would no doubt have helped and things could have turned out a little different... but I dont know about all that man.
Our D was still awesome that year, yes TM would have put it over the top, but its not like our D was bad. And our offense was not like it was this past year... yeah it had the same players as last years offense, but they were not as good as they were this past season. Hill didnt get that much work til the 7th game of the year, OBJ and Juice combined for 99 catches for 1,286 yards and 7 TDs, and Metts completion % was 58.8% and had just 12 TDs but 7 INTs.
Biggest difference between 2012 offense and 2013 offense : Cam Cameron. And our top offensive players, OBJ, Juice, Hill, Mett, were sophomores, a freshman that didnt play football for a year, and a QB in his 1st year starting in the SEC. They were inexperienced and young.
The defense was still awesome and 1 of the best in the nation... def good enough to win a National Title, without TM. Would he have helped? Of course. Hes amazing at football. Not saying hes not. But I dont think he alone cost us a championship in 2012 because he got the boot. He didnt play offense, which is what we struggled with at times in 2012.
But yea TM def struggled when arrested and didnt have football in his life... Not really surprised to hear he contemplated that, considering how much negative press he continually got during that year and how many people turned on him (went from most beloved to hated overnight) and all the shite being said about him, and the uncertainty of what to do next. But it sounds like he only thought about it for a second in the article. Doing great now and how he starts up that Second Chance foundation, he could have a huge impact on young men all over the country.

Knowing his situation, I don't doubt it. He is my all time favorite Tiger and the most electric player I've ever seen in purple and gold. I hope Tyrann can continue to do things the right way and lead by example.

Not trying a fake field goal on 4th and 13 against Bama and taking the ball out of Mett's hands at the end of the game prevented us from winning a championship.
He could have torn his ACL in the 1st game of the season, and our defense didn't cost us the UF game.
Maybe we would have won both those games with him, but there is no way we should have lost to Bama. The coaches had a brilliant game plan, Mett played great, but the in-game decisions killed us

Sucks. I'm pretty sure most people at one time in their life its crossed their mind though. Hope he continues his upwards trend

Awesome he's starting a foundation tackling that serious of an issue and one that's personal to him. I applaud all pro athletes that use their celebrity status and financial resources to give back to the community.
and frick that football season. this dude had some serious issues - if he succeeds in life then i'm more than happy to have lost a couple of football games. he's had enough pain for 2 lifetimes. the chances of a guy like that really turning it around are slim as frick.

I think it was the Washington game a couple of years ago at TS.
TM was sitting in the stands as a fan for about a half.
My wife and I had taken our sons to the game ... for our youngest (at the time), I think it was his first game.
At any rate, my kids loved the "Honey Badger" ... the videos (minus the commentary, of course) ... the play on the field by the "little guy."
A lot of folks were approaching TM to take photos and such, especially little children. I could not resist the urge to take one of my boys over there.
Even in the aftermath of getting kicked off the team, I thought that TM was very gracious to all of his fans, even the ones that he'd disappointed.
But, my family has always rooted for him....and, quite honestly, we've used his story as teaching points for a couple of things:
1) Don't do drugs. You'll ruin your life.
2) Be smart about whom you associate with. Know who your real friends are.
3) If you fall down ... be a man. Have some accountability and pride, and pick yourself back up. Keep moving forward.
I wish him all the best.

His life was almost ruined and he almost killed himself over weed. I'm no fan of the stuff, but it's weed. He didn't rape, steal, kill, maim, hate crime, or anything. I know the argument that it is banned substance, but why is it banned in the first place or why so much weight given to its use by him and athletes and so little to everyone else in the world.
Tyrann lost a lot, but really think about being in jail in that state of mind arrested at a private residence not driving or danger to the rest of the world over that. And branded a thug and worse. I hate the compare it to alcohol argument, but let's do. Drinking at home no problem driving drunk problem. It is the same thing or even if not it caused far more damage than the crime. Now that said team rules need abided by, but almost losing a life over this was way overboard.

You mean TRYING a fake field goal against Bama?
Also, really stupid comment. That botched fake FG couldn't have had less of an impact on the game. Bama immediately went 3 and out after the fake field goal attempt and LSU got the ball back and drove down the field again.

Really a shame things got that bad for him. Glad to see he was able to get his shite together and turn it around and become successful in the NFL.

How does that make it a stupid comment? We tried a fake field goal with Alleman that gave Bama the ball at the 33. I would imagine Drew is 50/50 from that range. The chance of getting a first down there on that play has to be under 5% on 4th and 12 with a play designed in to give the ball to the kicker in the backfield.
So the defense forces them 3 and out, and we get the ball back at the 9. We drive down the field all the way to the 37 and kick a longer field goal on 4th and 4 (with a miss) - a fake field goal would have made sense there. Just going for it would have made more
We took away an opportunity to put points on the board, and it flipped the field position on us. Would you agree that it is a lot harder to score from your own 9 than your own 40?
It also ignores the wildcat on 4th and 1 then taking the ball out of Metts hand on 3rd down at the end of the game. We were conservative when the situation called for aggressiveness, and we were aggressive when we should have been conservative. Then we went to the other extreme against Clemson and threw the ball twice on 2nd and 3rd down with 2 yards to go.

It is a stupid comment because you are just making stuff up. In his LSU career, Drew Alleman was 0/4 from FGs of 50+ yards. If the line of scrimmage is the 33 yard line, that would make it a 50 yard field goal attempt.
So your comment that trying a fake field goal, as opposed to attempting a 50 yard FG with a kicker that NEVER once made a FG in his entire career that was 50+ yards, against Bama cost us winning a National Championship is really stupid.

Its funny because people say if we would have ran the ball instead of passed it against Clemson we would have won. Funny how coaches make bad decisions when they don't go our way.

That is why I didn't use it as a definitive statement. Do you think he had a better shot at hitting that field goal or converting the 4th and 12 against arguably the best defense in the country? Why did we attempt a longer field goal on the following drive when it was a manageable down (4th and 4) if Les didn't think he had the leg. The youtube video has it as a 47 yard attempt. If Copeland doesn't make the worst play of his career, we score a TD there too.
Not only that, Bama was expecting it and came out in Safe coverage with outside ends and safeties set up outside. Gotta take a timeout there.
LINK - even the announcers call it out. They pinned us inside the 9 there when we could have tried to pin them inside the 10 and get great field position the next drive or attempt to put another 3 on the board.

If he didn't have the leg, we should have played the field position game. Alabama scored a TD on that possession despite getting the ball with 1:08 left.
Where did I say it was JUST the fake field goal either? I believe I listed several other plays. All the plays had a negative impact on the game for LSU
The coaching staff shot themselves in the foot that game, because they put together a near perfect game plan, prepared the team, and just let it slip away.

It was 2nd and 2 against Clemson. Jeremey Hill was averaging over 10 ypc. Mett didn't have a down that game with a tremendous amount of pressure.
It was 3rd and 10 against Bama. Mett was deadly that game and Bama couldn't stop us through the air. We chose to try a 45 yard field goal instead of taking a shot at the win. Les usually does a great job when calling fakes and going for it on 4th down.
Those situations aren't very similar. The best shot of getting a 1st down on 2nd and 2 against Clemson was to run the ball twice.
We had a very slim chance of converting a 3rd and 10 on the ground while averaging 2.8 ypc
