U.S. to open third military base to illegal child immigrants

Senior administration officials, who asked not to be identified, told reporters that an Army base at Fort Sill, Oklahoma, will initially hold 600 "unaccompanied minors" and eventually will be able to accommodate up to 1,200.
In recent weeks, the Obama administration has opened similar emergency shelters at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas, and Naval Base Ventura County in Southern California.
Reuters previously reported that the administration was seeking about $2 billion for the Department of Health and Human Services to handle the influx in fiscal 2015, which begins on Oct. 1, more than double the $868 million appropriated this year.
On Monday, administration officials said they would be asking Congress for an additional $560 million to help the Department of Homeland Security cope with the illegal border crossings.

We sure are spending a lot of money to move illegals within our borders. Why not spend the money to move them home?
ETA: I just don't believe these young kids are traveling by themselves from Central America with out their parents.

Went to basic at lackland, and I'm pretty sure that place had enough illegals as it was...

They should move the kids out of the military bases and set up a base for these poor kids in the Central Park.

It's a lot closer to put them in Marin County, home district of Nancy Pelosi, or in Las Vegas, home of Harry Reid, and to stick the municipalities and states with the bill.

Why are we housing these illegals instead of deporting them? Oh yeah Obama's president, nevermind.

If this is the only consideration in matters, it's despicable.

What I have yet to understand is how these children are getting across the border without parents. Something is going on. My suspect meter is pegging out.

Like any president has tackled this issue.
Oh I forgot, everything is Obama's fault all the time, no matter what.

Still doesn't answer the question of "Who the frick is running ads in Guatemala and other Central American countries saying 'If your children cross the US border, they WILL NOT be turned back!'"
Lots of speculation that the current administration is doing this to create a flood of illegal "anchor babies" to help push the "Dream Act" bullshite.

Ok just found this article.
Financial Times

Cecilia Muñoz, director of the White House domestic policy council, said that some of the influx may have been caused by a false rumour in some countries that children would be allowed to stay in the US.

If it's a "false rumor", then figure out where to deport them to and get them out of here.
I have a sinking suspicion, though, that it is NOT a "false rumor". These kids will end up being props to push through an amnesty, if not chain immigration when their families try to join them in the US.
