Had about a 7 foot hammerhead swim between me and my brother in gulf shores last year. We watched him from about 50 yards out go right between us. We were about 10 yards apart. Good times

same here, I was in Perdido mid July and watched about a 7' hammerhead swim up and down the beach for about 20 min while there was a guy paddle boarding not giving a frick

When I was a kid/teenager I used to snorkel out past the sand bars, that stopped when I saw a shark that in my eyes was 20 feet (it was probably 7-8). Scared me to near panic just watching him cruise along paying no mind to my arse. I had seen them before but this one was bigger and more menacing. The hammerheads didnt bother me and usually topped out at near 5-6 feet but seemed skinny.

Same in gulf shores last year for us.
