Got a kid who fights calf cramps pretty regularly. Any advice?
He doesn't do long distance, but sprints. Obviously we stretch and warmup and eat right and stay hydrated.

There are studies all over the map on this one. Even some that will show it has nothing to do with hydration.
It's usually caused either by overexertion or some sort of nutrition issue. Increase hydration, increase sodium and electrolytes ( salt stick) and play with the variables until you find a solution or work with a professional and pay the $$$.
Unfortunately, when it comes to issues like this, there is no one size fits all answer.
