Keeping a gun in a locked vehicle and said vehicle getting broken into and the gun being stolen is not irresponsibility, it's bad luck

In my opinion, luck has very little to do with it. There is a possibility that someone will break into your truck. In today's society, it's not as remote a possibility as it used to be. As such, leaving the gun in the truck increases the likelihood it is stolen. I have had 2 cars broken into a good neighborhoods. Thankfully, I never leave a handgun in my vehicle.

I never leave my handgun in my vehicle at night. However, in this instance, the OP was visiting someone else's house. He was not at his house so that he could bring it inside and lock it up. I have a gun in my truck 90% of the time that I am not sitting in my own house. Feel free to come and try to take it. If that's what you want to advocate to prove your point.

Do I lock my truck? Yes, most of the time. Do I remember to lock it EVERY time? Hell no, and anyone that says they do is a liar.
