Video

Match Scorecard and Match Report

To understand the significance of this batting display, you need to understand that when a batman is scoring 1.3 to 1.5 runs for each ball that he faces in this format of the game, he is doing extremely well. In this morning's match, the batsman in question, Suresh Raina, scored at the rate of 3.48 runs per ball (87 runs from 25 balls). Batting performances like this don't happen often in cricket, if ever. Even if you don't understand any of this, I think you will still enjoy the video.

The bowler was awful. And he set up for most of those bats. So the fielders were not good either. Not impressed.

Ok, a little impressed.

How is this game difficult. You only have to hit it past the fielders playing that close with no gloves?

Did you miss the part where he destroyed Mitchell Johnson, the white tattooed left arm bowler (pitcher)? Johnson who plays for the Australian national team is currently one of the Top 3 bowlers in international cricket and also the fastest.

The first 36 balls/pitches (6 overs) of every batting inning is called power play where only 2 fielders are allowed outside the 30 yard circle. More fielders are allowed after the 36th pitch till the end of the inning (120 pitches in total) to better protect the boundary. These rules are in place to encourage a lot of big hitting early in the game. However this guy was hitting the ball so far into the stands, I doubt a few fielders in the outfield would have stopped him.
