Thats pretty much how it is viewed over here and as long as this keeps happening why wouldn't it be. At least it pays better and has a higher level of play than the A-League but id rather live down under.

How much of a retirement community can it be? David Villa just started in a UCL Final and was pretty solid.

Well this isn't for another year I think its awesome for the league but this is these guys getting one last check and still being able to dominate.

If he went to Inter like Vidic is doing, we wouldn't call Serie A a retirement community.
He's still a great player at 32 and just started in the UCL Final. This isn't bad for MLS by any means, even if this will be his last club.

That's a weird way to put it
More like, receive a little bit more than they'd receive in Europe (Americans excepted)
MLS isn't making Asamoah Gyan one of the highest paid players in the world, or anything

He's going there b/c he lacks pace now
I wish he would go to MLS but him going to Italy make sense b/c he will be close to home and he might have some not so great views about the US.

I never said he will suck at 33 just calling it like it is. Anytime a former world class player comes to you league its awsome.

Signed,
2005's talking point.

If Villa and Lampard are both brought stateside my resistance to MLS viewing will be seriously threatened.

Nothing´s changed mane, nothing´s changed.
It´s still a dinosaur cemetery, but the level of play is obviously much higher now in comparison to 2005 (I wouldn´t say it´s any closer to a major league, however).

Why should it be? It's not even 20 years old and all of the teams have a combined annual budget similar to that of one premier league team.

I may have understood that this was what Sheep was implying.
Anyway, it´s good news for El Guaje, and may set the stage for possible stateside moves for Santi and Michu in the future.

2013 Best XI
Who wouldn't be able to cut it in Europe?
Mike Magee? And don't say Will Johnson, because he's as good as Roger Espinoza, who might be Wigan's best player.
Other stars:
Dempsey, Martins, Bradley, Defoe, Cesar, Rimando, Donovan, Javier Morales, Aurelien Collin, Henry, Nagbe
Which of those players couldn't cut it in Europe (if they chose to)?

Donovan Ricketts, Portland
Matt Besler, Sporting KC
José Gonçalves, New England
Omar Gonzalez, Los Angeles
Tim Cahill, New York
Will Johnson, Portland
Diego Valeri, Portland
Graham Zusi, Sporting KC
Marco Di Vaio, Montreal
Robbie Keane, Los Angeles
Mike Magee, Chicago
