I need something I can chug in the morning before work. Not looking for the post-workout calorie bomb type shake. Just looking for something healthy. I've heard of people putting spinach and strawberries in their shakes, but I'm not sure how that would taste. So, this is what I was thinking of:

2 cups frozen strawberries
1 frozen banana
almond milk
rolled oats (steel cut oats)
two scoops of protein powder for ~ 50 grams protein
a handful of spinach

Any suggestions on how to make this better? Or is it a bad idea to mix the greens with the fruit?

Thanks.

I love frozen rasberrys and blackberrys in mine. I have never gone with leafy green plants. Never thought I would enjoy the taste.

My husband puts spinach in his all of the time. His is like what you posted except he uses mixed berries and not nearly 2 cups, no oats, and adds coconut oil. We buy the big bag of mixed berries at Costco and fresh spinach there, too, that we freeze. We have a Blendtec so the spinach gets blended up well and he doesn't taste it. Sometimes he will use frozen kale instead of spinach. And he uses either a berry or banana protein (Dymatize Iso 100)

eta: and flaxseed. This is his post work out breakfast though.

I like frozen cherries, a banana, one scoop of protein and some water.

My go-to:

1 banana
handful of berries (any combination of strawberry, blueberry, raspberry, blackberry)
handful of spinach
milk
scoop of vanilla greek yogurt
protein powder
sometimes a tablespoon of vanilla extract

I use fresh fruit btw, my smoothies always vary based off of what's on hand.

Get some gladiator protein from smoothie king...low carb, and calorie. Use frozen strawberries,a frozen bananna (not too much, can be high calorie I think), and spinach...either almonds (just a few) or oats...boom done.

Quit wasting your protein powder. The body can only process so much protein at one time. 25-30 grams at one time.

Just use one scoop.

Instead of protein powder, use two cups of greek yogurt. Good fat content and 45-50 grams of protein depending on brand.

I do the above plus a handful of frozen blueberries and then a handful of frozen sliced strawberries along with 1/2 a banana plus 1/2 cub of 2% milk.

Add a few raw eggs to your recipe an old school body builders trick.
