In retrospect, we obviously dropped the ball. We had people who were convinced it was going to happen and were discounted.
But, I'm always reluctant when the argument starts to sound more like putting the primary blame on the defenders rather than the aggressors. The CIA, for it's faults and failures, is an extraordinary entity that has prevented incalculable harm to the country. I think the move away from an emphasis on human intelligence following the end of the Cold War is when things really started to go south, but that is a different discussion.

The collapses look like a controlled demolition to me. For two quick reasons as to why I believe that, 1) the buildings fell at free fall speed and 2) the collapse of the twin towers clearly featured squibs, which to my knowledge, only occur during demolitions

I'm not sure of the technical term, but when a building is imploded small charges can be seen coming out from the side of that building before it collapses. These charges are visible on the WTC. Thats the smoking gun for me. I just don't believe a jet would take down those buildings.

Those weren't small charges. It was air pressure causing the windows to be blown out and debris to be blown out of the building.
