Lester in the background looking like he wants to lick his nut sack or something.

I'm really, really trying not to get too excited about Cooks. But deep down, I feel he could be the explosive WR that Brees has never had and could be the key to our next Lombardi. (Please, Lord, don't let him be another Meachem.)

His facemask really irritates me for some reason

This is how I feel too. He really seems like a slam dunk pick-up for this offense.

The thing that excites me about him is that he's been super productive. He was gameplanned for, and he still put up crazy numbers. Measurables are nice, and he has them, but the two don't always go hand in hand. He's a complete player, and I'm very excited.

It was Aaron Brook's facemask style once upon a time?
Or you're a Madden-ite that never gives that mask to anyone. You'd rather the kind with the 3 bars down the middle or the Reggie Bush type with no 2nd cross bar?

He's short too. I knew he was short, but man, he looks 5'3.

Not really...
Just always thought of that as a QB facemask

Things that stood out to me the most:
Not just the content of that quote, which is exciting in itself, but that he obviously has a good head on his shoulders and is respectful. Exactly the kind of player you would expect from Sean and Mickey.
The fact that we even use some of the same terminology as he used in college is gonna help his transition tremendously in year 1. He's gonna be an instant impact player for us this year.

Did you run the ball much at Oregon State?
“Yes sir I did. We had a lot of fly sweeps and a lot of end-arounds, so I have familiarity in that background.”

quote:
You said on draft night that you had a hunch the Saints would take you. That seemed very telling about this being a good fit for you and the team thinking you would be a good fit.
“Yeah, no doubt. When Coach Payton called that night and talked about some of the things we talked about, and how excited he was to use me in this offense. When I went back and studied this offense, it’s very similar to my offense back at school. I’m just excited to be in a fit like this and I’m just learning as I go.”
In what ways is this offense similar to the one you ran in college?
“Our formations. Some of our play-calling, the terms are exactly the same. Some of it is a little different, but as far as where to line up at, it’s pretty much the same.

I see several under thrown balls to Cooks this year. I'm not saying that Cooks won't catch them, he just needs to prepare for under thrown balls.

So work on under thrown balls and catch them. Sounds very sound.
