Montego bay sucked. Grand Cayman was awesome. Do the rum distillery, beer brewery and rum cake factory excursions.

Just got back from the same cruise. We did the catamaran ride to swim with the sting rays in grand cayman. Was actually a blast. Went to an all inclusive resort in Jamiaca and it sucked. Stay on the boat and gamble that day.

Yea... no.

Rum Point in Grand Cayman was fantastic.

Jamaica is basically a giant ghetto slum. No matter where you go you will be hounded by locals trying to get you to buy their wares. My advice is to go to a resort for the day, where no locals will be, and then go straight back to the boat without stopping. Be prepared for wild death-defying taxi rides.

Go to margaritaville in Montego Bay, but be sure to order red stripe, not bud light or miller light! Btw, I've been to two all inclusives in Jamaica and had a blast. Sure there are places to stay away from, but name a place that doesn't have somewhere like that

Grand cayman is a dream island. One of the nicest places I have ever been. Jamaica is a 3rd world country that is a shite hole. That's being nice. I never felt safe there for a second. Couldn't give me a free99 trip I would turn it down. Stingray point is a blast in grand cayman. Do that for sure. If u are looking for something to do in scamaica go zip lining over the rain forest. That was fun for sure.

Appleton Estate rum tour in Jamaica is great. Stingray city and the turtle farm in Grand Cayman. Take the catamaran.

I have to agree. I really dislike that place. The rest of the Caribbean is really nice but, Jamaica is just a nasty place.

Don't go away from the resorts. Especially don't go downtown. People walk up to you randomly and start telling you stuff about the city. After a few minutes they start to ask for money. The whole place sucks really.

Don't listen to these scared, sheltered count drippings. Jamaica is awesome. Be adventurous and you'll have a story to tell. Just don't be an idiot and don't be an a-hole.

Exactly. Grand Cayman was so sanitized and boring. I enjoyed walking around Montego Bay with my kid and experienced zero problems. Local police were plentiful and were fun to talk to. Only time people tried to sell things were when we walked in front of their store. Wife and her female relatives went off on their own to some of the local markets. The locals descended on them but treated them like royalty. Other relatives did formal excursions (including the lazy river) and enjoyed themselves, as well. And the cab drivers were funny as hell. Enjoyed the beach at Doctor Cave's and was never bothered at all except for maybe the occasional restaurant staff offering us a drink or a local music act playing music and posing for pictures. Water was beautiful--moreso than Cayman, imo.

To St. Peter at the Pearly Gates or the ferryman at the River Styx.
The 7th Ward in NOLA is awesome too.

Stingray City is fun but is where almost all the cruise folks go.
Having spent several week long vacations there, my recommendations are:
1. Rum Point- It is about a 25 minute drive from Georgetown. Great place to enjoy the sand and water with several good places to eat and drink as well as nice boutique type shops.
2.Cemetery Beach- it is on the North end of the gorgeous Seven Mile Beach and is a good place to snorkel. The name derives from the cemetery that is located just inland from the beach. You actually walk beside or through it from where you park. Never a ton of people there.
3.Smith Cove- very close to Georgetown. It is a very cool location that most cruise folks never go to. Locals and people vacationing for a week or more tend to visit the cove. The cove has cool rock ledges that you can snorkel around with depths often reaching 15-20 feet right beside the ledges. Been there when I saw only a few fish and other times when I saw fish everywhere. But it is great to look at the rock formations underwater even without fish present.
4. Stingray City- fun little excursion but again...you will be packed in with a horde of other cruise people. The three above are better in my opinion.
Oh yeah. Don't waste your time going to Hell. It is very underwhelming. That is a place to go for an hour on about day 6 of a week long vacation.
