incorrect. calling a bourbon "straight" is where alot of the requirements come into play. there is none on what state it must be produced in though. bourbon is currently produced in many other states than kentucky

quote:If this is the case, then you are probably better served looking for a lower cost blended whiskey that combines well with the Sprite. Premium whiskeys are premium because of their distinctive flavors. Covering those flavors with Sprite just seems like a waste.
I'm mixing it with Sprite
That's not to say you can't find one or more premium whiskeys that you enjoy the way they mix with Sprite, but you'll have to take a hit or miss approach to find them.

You're correct - bourbon can be made anywhere in the US, but only bourbon made in Kentucky can use Kentucky on the label. Otherwise, if I remember right, the other lawful requirements include aged in a new charred oak barrel for 2 years, uses no coloring or flavoring, and created from a mash of at least 51% corn.

if youre going to be drinking over an extended period of time, then I think mixing is perfectly fine, I'm not a beer drinker, so its a little hard for me to keep up without getting hammered if im not mixing. I'm a fan of maker's and seven, but my personal favorite is knob creek and seven, sprite is a bit too sweet for me, and reminds me of having an upset stomach, so I stay away from that.

My dad loves that stuff. He used to drink Wild Turkey exclusively, but switched to blends a while back. He drinks Lord Calvert too
He's not into buying expensive stuff to mix with his coke zero

I think it's the other way around. To be a Bourbon a whiskey has to be produced in Kentucky
wrong

If it's made anywhere else, like Tennessee for example, it cannot call itself a bourbon
wrong again

This is why Jack Daniels is called sour mash whiskey instead of bourbon.

You're actually all three. go frick yourself dickhole.

I was only pointing out there are some who only consider whiskey from Kentucky as being bourbon. How did that made you fly off the handle in such a manner to insult me repeatedly? Overreact much?

Indeed. He made a post, I made a post where I stated I thought it was the other way around. His reaction was to call me all sorts of names and wish I'd never been born. Yet it's me that had the reputation for being the a-hole on here.

i believe you were the first one to resort to name calling.
then you specifically asked me to view the rest of your post. which I obliged.
every single statement you made "as fact" was wrong.
now you are being passive aggressive. again, i'll point out, that is why nobody likes you.
