About 6 months ago, I was called out for being too critical about Tap Room when I said they needed to step it up. You can't be a beer pub and open at 3p on Saturdays. I'm guessing Ferguson is Jodi, if so he will get a better selection of beer and staff. Lafayette is really in need of a good beer bar. It's gonna take some time to break the 10oz BMC crowd and schillings is not willing to try

I remember that. Wasn't me. I also give credit to artmosphere for having an ok selection (about 10 taps) and a great atmosphere.

I swore that the Tap Room's lines were infected for quite awhile a year or two ago and pretty much stopped going. I used to be a regular there when I lived at Main Street. They got rid of all of the hot bartenders awhile back too.

Is there a decent beer bar in Lafayette?

I think the day I showed up at the Parish taproom and Andrew was running Envie through cascade hops, and Grand Reserve was still available on tap...that might have been the best beer bar in Lafayette.

Well...Lafayette Parish.

There's still a hot Asian working the Tap Room. And another blonde or two

And as far as beer selection goes, my house by far has the best selection in Vermillion Parish.

Not really. Tap room could be it, but struggles to keep me as a customer.

Seems like there should be a market for someone to come in and do something.

I mean, if BR can support five decent beer places, then surely Lafayette should have one or two.

All this talk about beer selection is all well and good, but I only care if they carry the one or two beers that I like and Tap Room is the only bar in town that does (haven't been in there in about a year though - cheaper to drink at home).

Should be some good changes though, unless of course they quite carrying my beer.

Celebrator Doppelbock and Spaten Optimater.

As you can see, I prefer malt to hops

What's your poison?

Depends on my mood. Usually something full of hops. Or a nice stout. But they never really have any good stouts.

$30 all you can eat weak crawfish is better than $30 for maybe 6 lbs of strong crawfish. At least I know I can put down about 9 lbs of the all you can eat variety.

The reason people go there is because there is such a weak amount of decent bars for professionals in town. You have the tap room, and corner bar..then it's all downtown. People flock to the tap room and corner bar because that's all there is.

True. Corner Bar and Tap Room are full of professionals after work. Including myself at times. Even though I'm a pretend to be professional.
I rock the bar at Social on occasion too.
