Arcade Fire = best band of this current musical generation

I'm not sure it's close. Every album outside of maybe Neon Bible is a classic and will be referred to on all top albums of the 2000/10's list for the rest of time. You could argue Funeral is the best album made in 10-15 years.
They have their own completely unique sound. They put on one of the best live shows in the world. And they write creative and emotionally moving music that is complex but still catchy as hell.
I was trying to think of who the current "Beatles" is in the world, the band that will have the most lasting musical impression on the world, and I keep coming back to Arcade Fire as that band. I know they aren't obviously the same cultural phenomenon, but they're the best all-around band going right now.
What say you MB? Who is your "Beatles" of the 2000s/2010s?

Maybe Radiohead. But I'd probably also go with Arcade Fire.

There is none.

Obviously.
But the question is who will we look back on as having the greatest musical and cutltural impact from the 2000's/2010's.

Sadly, probably some boy band.

Give the crown to Justin Timberlake for longevity and impact across entertainment platforms.

Too bad you're in lolBR or you could have seen Win Butler DJing at The Saint this past weekend

It's hard for me to truly crown a band whose entire catalog is in a language I don't even vaguely understand.
That said, I love their sound.

The Killers or Silversun Pickups would be my vote.

Racist.
Nah, I actually almost said I think they're vastly under appreciated because nobody can understand the lyrics. I've seen 100's of concerts, including Pink Floyd and the Rolling Stones, and the 2 times I've seen them are the best 2 concerts I've ever seen.

I appreciate Sigur Ros, but it's like not something that I'm driving around and I'm like "frick yea, I'm gonna jam some Sigur Ros right now"
