Everyone best temper their excitement for fournette. He will be hard pressed to surpass his talent and production of hill. Funny thing is, fournette will be playing at almost the same height but just a bit lighter. Both have terrific balance and vision with top end speed.
Jhill was special.

JHill was indeed very special. I've said this before, but he was one season and 3 quarters away from maybe being the best running back in LSU history. He's already top 5. There is no chance Fournette is as good this year as Hill was last year, and chances are he never will be. And that's nothing against LF at all. I just don't think most people really appreciated JHill.

agreed. Jhill was the best back we had here in a long time...probably since Faulk. He just didnt have the numbers cause his college career was so short. LF has some big shoes to fill

Jeremy Hill was the best running back we've had in a long time. I agree with you, it'll be tough for LF to pass that. Hill was a beast

I disagree. LF is noticeably more talented. First, he's considerably faster. Second, he has quicker feet (similar to Hilliard). And I hope he turns out to be a tougher runner. IMO that was Hill's weakness; the only times he got bonus yards was when he got in the clear. He never got those "Hester" or "Ridley" yards.
With that said, I don't expect LF to contribute at that level during the first half season. But he'll probably be considerably better than Hill.

Yep.
Sucks for us he left.

If only Hill hadnt teased us about coming back before he declared. The mere thought of a Hill/Fournette backfield would have SEC DC's prepping for us Week 1

I been saying for two years now he was easily in the top 3 all time LSU RB. Never wavered on that through his suspension. Hope to see the young man do well in NFL. And I said this week LF has some huge shoes to fill.

I think Fournette can come in and be as good as hill right away. Thats the crazy part, that isn't too unrealistic.

Jeremy Hill wasn't near a decent pass blocker his freshman year, but still started the last seven games. Hill also had to run behind a true sophmore LT, redshirt freshman LG, and a true freshman RT.
Fournette is nearly the same size and weight, but runs a low 4.4 and has more power. Fournette already has great hands and an OC willing to use them. Fournette also has 4/5ths of a starting OL return. Fournette will have no problem replicating what Hill did his freshman year.
Hill had 740 yards and 12 TDs in 8 games, using that metric, I'd say Fournette has around 1200 yards in 13 games. I will not temper my expectations. Great backs produce.

I think hill had a bunch of way better highlights that they didn't show.
