Doubtful, I'd like to see where it got thrown out and on what grounds. You were over the state per se level which is .08. Pretty tough to get thrown out at that point.

I think you're forgetting this is Louisiana. Knowing the right people coupled with passing the field test can make things go away.

I wasn't talking about for me specifically.

Not likely there's much truth to any of your story. I'd like to see the report.

Well I'm not giving you my name, and it happened 10 years ago.

ETA: And why on Earth would I make up such a ridiculous story?

don't buy this. The cop cannot arrest you if you passed the field sobriety test.

BS, the field sobriety is just mounting evidence

I have a video that went to trial of myself performing a field sobriety test and the trooper administering it saying on camera "you look fine, you passed everything but you smell like alcohol"

Arrested anyway

Got called into work at 2:30 one morning. One of Shreveport's finest pulls me over three blocks from my house. Tells me to get out of the car and walk toward him. After 2 minutes of an unofficial sobriety test, he gives me a ticket for a license plate light being out.

Got it fixed, case dropped.

Ha. Sounds like he bamboozled the shite out of you. I'm sure his narrative says otherwise. Cops do not have to be completely honest with you when conducting an investigation.

So he says something that sounds less believable than what I said and you just roll with it? Why aren't you calling him out? Is it because you know he can beat your arse IRL?

Just figured out what you were asking. 36 in a 15 school zone. It was usually a 35.

Because he's right. You don't NEED the SFST or a chemical test. All you have to be able to do is articulate in your report that the driver was too intoxicated to be operating a motor vehicle. However, if the SFST was administered he more than likely did not "pass" it. The cop can say whatever he wants.

I know. The prosecutor offered an amended charge to careless op with a DUI sentence, but we turned that mug down too

Take it to trial!!!!

I'm failing to see how his story and mine are all that different, but whatever.

When I was 16 years old I got an MIP driving through woodworth for having a full unopened beer can in the bed of my truck. It had been there for months. Didn't even have a label on it cause it had rubbed off. He asked if he could open it to see what it was; I told him it was probably a beer but he could. Boom. MIP in broad daylight just driving back from the lake. He initially pulled me over for 58 in a 55.

I'm guessing this was recently. Good luck with that man. Seriously, I wish you well. Hopefully you learned a lesson that it's just not worth driving after drinking.

ah better wording this time.

I would say it's Darwinism, but you could possibly take out other, fitter people with your stupidity so it doesn't fit

When I was a student at LSU I got a ticket from the LSU Pretend Cops for backing into a parking place rather than driving forward into the parking spot.

Got arrested once for being out after curfew. The kick in the dick was I was coming back from the movies, and was going to sleep at my buddy's house which we were three blocks from. Would have made it right on time, but caught a train. Train passes, cop is on the other side after train ends, and pulls us over because he suspects we are out after curfew. I calmly explain the situation, and everything was cool, but he said he couldn't let us go. So I convinced him to follow us to the station so we wouldn't have to pick up my car later, he agrees. They call our parents (we are both 16 at this time, 10:02 on a 10pm curfew) to come pick us up, and my friend's dad comes up there raising all kinds of hell. Well, he finishes his tirade, and says, "Come on Joe, we're leaving." The officer says, "Still doing the paperwork, hold on..." To which his dad replies, "No, are they under arrest?" At which point I just put the palm of my hand against my forehead, and sure enough, he read us our fricking rights and arrested us. Not really a ticket per se`, but WTF?
