Living in a tornado alley or living off the coast and dealing with hurricanes?

Which is worse and if you had a choice, what where you choose to live?
I have to say I'd rather live off the coast. Tornado Alleys are so crazy. We have the same cities and towns get hit every storm season. The storm systems almost always take the same exact path through Alabama.

The pros of living near the coast greatly outweigh the pros of living in tornado alley

Apparently a lot of us have the best of both worlds.

The coast. BR doesn't have a tornado problem.

Neither. I live in a place with no natural disasters. I'll take that.
Tornados terrify me.

I'll deal with a hurricane, only because I've got more time to get out.
That being said, chances of getting smoked by a tornado are much less than a hurricane.

coast, hurricanes come with greater warning so easier to escape if need be.

I'd totally rather live in BFE, Kansas instead of Wrightsville Beach.

moved from oklahoma city to new orleans six years ago. definitely feel safer weather-wise here.

Live by the coast. You have plenty of time to prepare for and see a hurricane coming. During tornado seaspm, any storm can spawn one and tornados themselves are unpredictable.
Lived in Tornado Alley for 18 years growing up.

Do people who live in Tornado alley have the same issues with Homeowners insurance that people who live on the coast do?

The Coast and its not even close. you have days if not a week or so to prepare for a hurricane. A tornadoe can pop up without warning

EBRP may be hot as hell in the summer, but generally we don't get extreme weather. Sure we will get the occasional twister or tropical storm, but they are far and few between. Our weather is pretty mild for the most part.
Kinda like it right here.

This, you have more time to prepare. Even if hurricanes sometimes spawn tornadoes, I'd rather be able to see the storm on the map, track it, and know with some certainty that it's headed my way.

100% dealing with hurricanes on this one. I don't know about y'all but I like my heads up on natural disasters.
