My aunt has a dry cleaners, gave two guys who got out of prison a chance to work since no one would hire them. Paid them something like $8/hr to deliver clothes with the store's van.

Ended up firing both because they never came on time to deliver and it would cause an issue because they were the main shops for smaller cleaners to drop off (most small cleaners don't have a washer/dryer/press) and so it backs up everyone.

Got thrown a lawsuit for discrimination 2 weeks after firing them.

Ghetto white guy. Ghetto black guy.

Ignorance.

I've seen multiple sources list the $9 million settlement and nothing but that PR release about the money going back. My guess is they are intentionally obfuscating (for example, the lawsuit was for 90 million and the settlement was for $9 million, or something like that), but that is just a guess.

Yeah, but I doubt those two sacks of shite would get a federal agency to support them over a long legal battle in court.

Btw, assuming nothing else comes out against Crane, he's never going to face a second of scrutiny from the MLB senior officials, players' union, or his own players.

Is he racist? I have no idea. But he has done a hell of a lot better job covering his tracks than Sterling ever did. The golf trips with Obama were a great touch, for one.

I don't understand what he said that was wrong?

BTW if Crane were indeed a racist would this be true.

If Donald Sterling were indeed a racist would he have been selected to receive an award from the NAACP?

was accused by the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission in a 104-page report of attempting to avoid hiring blacks and women of child-bearing age and other violations. Included was an allegation that EGL instructed that African-Americans should not be hired because “once you hire blacks, you can never fire them.”

I hate to say it but I am guilty of this. I also wouldn't people over the age of 50or any other "protected class". All of this happened when I lived in California and even though there were A LOT of people in those protected classes that i thought would make good employees I didn't hire them once I found out through first hand experience how hard it was to fire them in a corporate environment if they didn't work out. I could get rid of a white 30 year old male for any reason but it took around 3 months and a lot of headaches to get rid of a member of a protected class.

It had nothing to do with racism or sexism and had everything to do with the bottom line. The laws that were meant to protect them ended up costing them opportunities.

Are the Astros still in Major League Baseball? I thought they had been sent down to Triple A

I hate all of this. It's insane that the NBA and NHL playoffs have been put on the back burner to talk about some a-hole and his a-hole comments.

No, but the triple A team is using the Astros as part of their farm system to develop their players.

Because this was never about one guy like it should have been. It was about reminding us that white males who have money are the enemy.

Apparently every white owner in sports is racist, am I right? I mean some African American athletes do call themselves "slaves".

Well what Crane said is pretty much true in today's society. My company wanted to drop a salesman due to poor numbers. (consistenly hit below quota while the other 4 salesmen consistently were 50% above quota)

Company lawyer advised not to fire him. My owner did, and he is now suing for wrongful termination.

You don't see how it's cojmpletely pathetic adn terrible reporting to make those claims against Crane?

crane may well be a racist, but his actions were pretty much dismissed in court and his actions since have been more than any other bleeding heart liberal has done for minorities since. Since Gumble has no idea about the case, no idea of Crane's character, and hasn't even met Crane, it's extremely pathetic and race-baiting to even bring him up.

He is a prime example why I would avoid hiring/interviewing minorities because they look for every little thing to claim they're discriminated against despite what evidence says to the contrary.
