A few years ago I was launching my boat in my back yard and everything went fine. I thought I had done everything needed. Boat and trailer was in the water but the boat wasn't moving off the trailer. Some water coming over the transom bc of a tug boats wave. Then it hit. Left the fricking transom straps on!

My biggest frick up by far in a boat to date....

Took my future father in law and brother in law fishing while still in school. The sac a lait were just jumping in the boat, thought I'll take them and impress them with my fishing prowess...

About a mile from the launch my fender blows off my trailer my FIL says that's a bad omen... Boy was he right..

Get to the launch, put plug in the boat, everything we need back the boat in. However some idiot left his trailer blocking the best part of the ramp so I used the part to the side of it. Backed my trailer off the end of the ramp. Get the boat off the trailer pull forward and realize that we are stuck on the ramp. After being very gentle get the trailer off the end of the ramp with truck. Pull trailer out of water axel is bent on trailer, I get out to look at damage and as soon as I do I hear the distinct sound of rocks popping under a tires from movement.... I run dive into the truck as it's rolling past me. Hit the brakes at water begins to POUR into the back of my old GMC Jimmy, it looked like a scene out of Titanic. I managed to get the truck stopped with the engine out of the water back end of truck submerged all my turkey hunting stuff floating past me in the driver's seat..

Managed to get a farmer to pull me out, he helped me re weld the axle so I could pull boat home. As you can imagine I still catch hell about this story to this day...

I hope someone enjoys my misery...20 years later I think I am still scarred from that incident.

I've been with a cousin when the transom straps were left on. Took us a few minutes to realize why the boat wasn't floating
