Pretty sure the TV show is part of the Marvel cinematic universe.
It definitely is. I watch the show with my son. I'm glad I went to see Captain America 2 in theaters because the show after the movie came out was chocked full of spoilers from the movie.

Might have to finally watch the wolverine movie. The first was so bad, I just haven't had the energy to endure another failure.
It's one of the best of the xmen movies.

If the new X-Men movie is a parallel universe, why didn't they bring back Cyclops and Jean Gray?

Just finished it. Pretty good. Although quite apropos to the OT.

After credits of X3 show professor X in a hospital bed in what appears to be a coma.

Also, I meant to follow-up with this:
The SHIELD situation from The Winter Soldier/Agents of SHIELD, is indicative that they are willing to take some chances. Maybe it wasn't a "death" in the classic sense, but it was a big risky change. They effectively destroyed something they've built up over 7 movies and a show.

How am I just now finding this out?

re-watch it.
X was destroyed, atomized if you will.
He then took over the mind of the guy in the coma.
IDK how he got his body back, but him and Magneto are at the end of the last Wolverine movie and Wolverine seems shocked as hell to see that Magneto has powers and X is alive.

he was wrong, no biggie.
(it's Xavier's consciousness, not him 100%)
X-3 after credits scene
The Wolverine after credits scene

Pretty big scene to stick at the end of X-Men 3.
If he moved his consciousness into a coma patient, why is he back in the chair looking like his old self at the end of Wolverine?
Or is he just projecting his old image over the new coma body?

Yeah it's pretty shitty and one of the things that made me stop reading comics.

Haven't seen X3 in a long time, but I seem to remember towards the beginning of the movie Professor X is teaching some students about a mutant at the research facility on Muir Island and the mutant was void of any conscience thought, just a shell. This is the person that they show in the post credit scene.
At the time I had assumed (and hoped) it was going to turn out to be Prometheus, which was one bad arse mutant. One of the few that could beat Phoenix (and Wolverine) back in the Claremont/Byrne days.
But alas.............

And to think all these Marvel fake out deaths started with Whistler dying in Blade.

I think they end stealing like a Mephisto/Spider-man idea and use Dr. Strange and Scarlet Witch to alter time and make some of the characters younger like Tony Stark Nick fury, etc.
I do think Sebastian Stan will take over Captain America as Bucky at some point as well.

I'm sorry but what does this mean? I know I can google it but just tell me

Just means the story and plots are consistent.

1. Abraham Whistler did die for good in Trinity
2. Whistler doesn't exist in the comics. In the comics, Eric Brooks is british and is trained by Van Helsing.
