Take pics of your dog's injury, bring dog to vet, present neighbor with bill, tell neighbor next time his dog comes onto your property & is aggressive, you will shoot it.
What happens in a couple of years when your 4 month old is playing with your dog on your property & neighbor's dog pack runs over & starts attacking your dog & your kid ends up in the middle of it all? I'm not a "shoot first" kinda person but when you or your animal is being attacked on your property, if the owner doesn't take proper steps, then you are left with only one option, protect you & your animal.

Be careful whatever you do sometimes killing a dog is worse than killing a human.

WEST CHESTER, Pa. - October 28, 2013 (WPVI) -- A man was sentenced on Monday to house arrest for killing his neighbor's two dogs back in February. Gabriel Pilotti, 73, was sentenced to 90 days of house arrest and two years of probation. He will also have to pay $1,600 in restitution, will have to surrender his weapons and will also have to perform community service. Related Content STORY:

You need to call the law and make a report. Then his dog will have one more time to be aggressive and they will take care of it or you can kill it in the act. Atleast this is what the law told me.

that is a damn bad situation...but honestly, there is no damn way I would kill someone else's dog without even telling them that there is a problem first...do that and it will be your word against his as to whether the dog was dangerous or not and could end up costing you some major dollars...

ETA: I would suggest you find a way to film this happening to your dog...then you can talk to your neighbor and escalate the issue as necessary...

First time dogs attacked mine he gets warning. Second time his dogs get a hollow point to the dome. I've done it.

He seen it last week when I had my 4mth old on the 4wheeler... he yelled and called the dog back, so he knows its going on. My wife was cutting the grass yesterday, my lab behind her and the dog made a break for it... the owner was outside and yelled and the dog stopped, its when the owner is not home or not outside is the problem. The neighbor next to them also has dogs and they are putting one of theirs to sleep bc its chasing kids on the school bus. Like i said,,, its like a pack of wolves

I had a very similar situation when I was younger with my black lab. The attackers where two big boxers and some type of terrier.

Ended up with our lab in the vet clinic clinging to life and the neighbor a few acres away paying for it all.

My brother lit their whole three acre front yard on fire in retaliation.

Didnt know that hogdaddy, thanks. Only thing is revenge factor... he hurts my dog... i'll be reading the OB from prison

If you are going to use that law as justification for shooting your neighbors dog, you had better have a report filed with animal control to prove there was a prior situation.

My wife and her dog were attacked by three yellow labs in our neighborhood in 2005. My wife was bitten fighting to save her little dog which sustained serious injuries.

The authorities would not declare that the dog's were dangerous, only that they were "potentially dangerous" because they considered it a first offense. We had two neighbors write letters saying that their dogs were attacked by these mutts on two separate occasions but it was worthless since they didn't report the attacks.

FWIW, I would not have a problem shooting a dog that is threatening a member of my family (pets included).

First of all, call the police and file a report. Bring your dog to the vet and go knock on said neighbors door with the bills.
I doubt if his dogs are up on all shots, so the pound would be called and possible 10 day quarantine would take place, all on his dime. They would fine him also.

Let him know you fear for your child's safety and let him know the vicious dog is NOT allowed to cross the property line. He should get the point. If not, carry a pistol/gun and put that mother fricker down if he comes across!

My dog took a bite out of my neighbor's dog (across the street). They were basically in the road, but my dog was the aggressor. He was protecting my other dog that was in a standoff growling nose to nose with neighbor's dog.
My dog grabbed him by the arse and dragged him backwards. We both broke em up quickly, and originally neighbor said all is good. A few minutes later he came and knocked and said he was heading to the vet. I said I would pay half because both of our dogs weren't on a leash, which is law in town. regardless of aggressor, we both were responsible for the dogs which "fought".

Make sure you aren't partly responsible and do your best to get your point across, if you are friends with this neighbor. But do it NOW!

Which is why this is simple to me. Most people seeing this would take steps to stop it.

If he's seen and hasn't stopped them, you telling him will only make sure he knows it's you if the dog(s) "disappear" so don't speak to him, but do go ahead and eliminate the threat to your kid/dogs. Be dam sure you don't post about it on here or Myface.

fwiw, if you don't have a good fence between your property and his, this sounds like a good time to install one...solves this problem immediately and also the inevitable property line disputes that are coming in the future...
