No there aren't... You need to come live in the real world. He wouldn't have been protected by Whistle blower laws. He would have the same treatment that Manning had and been locked up without access to a lawyer for 3yrs.

Meh. The idea of America that I held when I was younger is no more. I honestly just don't really care about this bloated, bureaucratic state that has no love for us but then demands fealty based on some fairy tale of patriotism. To hell with the state by internal or external means.

So you fault him for fleeing to one of the only countries that won't ship him back to the US where he would be black bagged?
We have no extradition with quite a few countries out there. Don't you think it strange he picks America's two biggest geopolitical foes (China and Russia) to hide behind?

do you think there are plenty of ways to keep this a story without propping up putin so he can put us down? especially given his actual total lack of moral high ground on these issues?

You realize that Honk Kong would have extradited him, that is why he fled to Russia? Russia was the easiest to get to and he knew about being able to stay in their airport indefinitely as he tried to find out his next move.

Those comments lead me to believe you are young and have no children. I understand that we have numerous problems here but it is, undoubtedly, the best place to live in the world. You are more free here thn you would be anywhere else on this Earth. Surely you understand that wherever this bloated bureacracy goes you will go with it. Lifeis far to good for me to be willing to throw my wife and children on the burning pyre of idealism.

and yet serving a softball up to putin doesnt accomplish anything other than a slap for the sake of slapping.
if you can show a patriotic reason to do THIS id be surprised. i definitely see the arguments that leaking the info could be considered patriotic, but in this particular example, im not seeing it.

I honestly don't care. America is its people not the government. Our government needs to be taken to task.

Good. As should any who is guilty of treason. If he was truly motivated by some benevolent force to shed light on something that he thought was harming Americans he would have shown bravery and accepted the consequences. Instead he ran away like a little bitch to 2 communist countries that TRULY treat their citizens like fricking dogs and got with his anti-American friend Glenn and started working to do as much damage to the U.S. as they can. What he stole goes well beyond domestic spying .. which btw, has any of those revelations been found to be illegal yet?

Link to where I said this? The government could slice his head off and I wouldn't care. He should want that too, right? The aggrandizing frick would probably love to be a martyr. He just doesn't have the balls to pay for his actions with his life.

Did I defend what he is doing in Russia? No I didn't....

You are an ex-agent. I used to have ties to intelligence."According to Reuters, Putin said Russia regulates communications as part of criminal probes, but "on a massive scale, on an uncontrolled scale we certainly do not allow this and I hope we will never allow it."Putin said authorities need consent from a court to conduct such surveillance on a specific individual, Reuters reported.
Putin then asked Snowden if he would like some polonium-enhanced Stevia to go with his tea.

If only al qaeda was interested in attacking our government and not our people. People are defending a guy who basically handed over our CIA playbook to islamic terrorists.

While I agree with you to a point sometimes it helps to have the government's credibility dragged through the mud. I think of it as a purging of the political bullshite in order to get back to the basic principles that matter.

Now? Not so much. I'm very impressed by what we COULD be but not terriby impressed by what we are and are becoming.
