Even with some experience? I figured people in HR/accounting/safety jobs made around that out of school.
Cajun - you didn't happen to start in acct?

Yep, it truly is silly bc I felt like such a baller at fifty and now I feel broke at 75.

Did you really not realize that engineering paid more than most majors coming out of school? Or did you just post that to be an asshat?
Posted on 4/17/14 at 4:16 pm to TigerBait1127
$52-54k is the norm in New Orleans. Hou/Dal may be $55,000+.

I don't know why you edited, but I'll remove the ones I quoted you on.

The only accountants I know work for small firms.

I live in Burbank Estates, right near the Mellow in Baton Rouge. It's a gated community and I have a roommate, but I have a huge room, my own bathroom, and everything included for $620 a month.

Who around here offers a MS in that? That field is hot, but I'd imagine it's hard without a background in tech.

I know where that is. I wasn't so much asking how you were living off of that or anything if that's how you took it. Hell, I hardly make anything right now. Still have a year of school left. I work at our Loan and Mortgage company part time, although I'm not even in school for business any more after changing to Marketing and Moving Image Arts. I don't make too much. I was seeing if you were still looking at options for places to work after you're done with everything.
My uncle has a CPA firm in Lake Charles, but I highly doubt you'd want to move that way.
Still, if you need more options that's basically another one, and I could put a word in.

I knew what engineering paid, but I didn't really have a good concept of what other majors got. It's hard to express this without sounding douchey, though, so you're right.
