Better than playing Carolina on the road in December
Yea, we would get them at home late if this is true. at least the way they try to pack the division schedule into the year end now for competition

This might be the best home slate we have had in a long time. Some solid gaames. Gonna say we get 4 primetime games. Not counting a few 3 pm start times. Either ATL or CAR will be one, & Gonna say Green Bay, @ Pitt , & @ Dallas the other 3. Would be awesome if we get Dallas on Thanksgiving again though. Gonna have to be them bc Detroit will play an AFC team this year I believe.

Steve Geller @SteveGellerWWL *PREDICTION*....Saints vs 49ers will be a Thursday night match-up. No relation to Uri Geller here
I doubt he knows anything.

I guess i'd rather see the Saints open up at home but if they did play the Panthers early in the year, Cam Newton would still be getting use to a brand new WR corp.
and pass defense was a strong point of the Saints defense last year.
exactly how many times did we make them punt last year up there?
I hadn't seen the Saints force that many three and outs in a long time.
it was beautiful.

I'm penciling in @ Tampa Bay week 17.
If we play Carolina week 1, I doubt they would schedule them to play week 1 and week 17.
We have never played Atlanta week 17, and at least one of the games has seemingly been on in primetime every year since the mid 2000s.

what is everyone's over/under on 3pm kickoffs?
we had a few more of those last year if I remember right.

That's part of the flex scheduling thing. The networks can change start times for Sunday afternoon games starting in November. So we won't know.
If San Francisco isn't primetime, it'll likely be 3 p.m.. Baltimore is a possibility. Both of them are two-team markets and they usually try to accommodate TV so there are no conflicts.
Other options are good teams with big audiences: Dallas, Pittsburgh, Green Bay.
Tampa Bay gets a shitload of late games at the beginning of the season because of weather. So that's a possibility too.

Opening with Carolina would be cool. Being that we play @ Detroit and @ Dallas, I could see one of those being a Thanksgiving game.

Lions play on CBS this year @ thanksgiving. They have to play an AFC team.

I think there is ZERO chance LSU and Saints play on the same day.
Doubled because Cowboys and aTm have a ton of cross fans too.

Didn't even think of that, oh well...

I'm thinking Green Bay will either be a 3pm kick or a Sunday Night game. The last 2 times we've played them was the season opener on NBC and then a 3pm kickoff on FOX.
my odd ball Monday Night game candidate is Cincinnati.
and then... lastly, I think we get ATL again on a Thursday night.
maybe we have another primetime game in there somewhere... @ Chicago or Detroit maybe?

They also played on MNF in 2008

Doubtful. Go back in history (or use what you can remember) and see how many times the Saints have played an NFC East or big-market/big audience team in primetime. The Saints rarely play a "random" team in primetime because the networks like to hedge their bets.

Take that one to the bank, or maybe Monday Night.

Chicago--for the reasons I mentioned above. We had a Thursday Night game there before.

I guess I was picking the Bengals as kind of a random MNF opponent because that is how I viewed our matchup with the Dolphins last year.
but you're right about the big market teams... Miami has more of a draw than Cincinnati I would assume.

Yeah, for example I have been to at least 3 Giants primetime games and definitely 4 Cowboys primetime games.
I can recall 3 primetime games with the Jets in my lifetime and we almost never play the Jets.
We've also had a buttload of primetime or 3 pm games with the 49ers, both here and in Candlestick.

No leaked schedules out yet? I think it was last year that there was a schedule floating around on twatter and it ended up being correct.

Man, even though his penalty cost us the game I remember getting so fired up watching that.
how that Jets DB didn't get in worse trouble is beyond me...
