Here is another sandwich idea.
black bean and quinoa burger
I order a version of this at Satsuma. It's fantastic.
ETA: 86 the steak sauce.
I need to give this a shot this week, I'll never retire if I keep eating at Satsuma.

A black bean and quinoa burger is expensive?

Not that alone, but once you get in Satsuma you have to have coffee, and maybe your date wants a $8 juice.
It adds up quickly.

I dig it, Jax. Lots of pepper on those tomatoes .. that's my jam. Hope you're recovering well.

Hummus or avocado make outstanding spreads, as others have said. Glad you're making the changes to get yourself firing on all cylinders. You were missed!

Jax--some suggested kale or spinach as a healthy addition to your sandwich. Check with your doctor or pharmacist first though, because dark green leafy veggies can sometimes interact with some heart meds.

Yep. I take warfarin to thin my blood for my carbon fiber heart valve and they thicken my blood like crazy.

At this point, it looks like I will be on Crestor and a bunch of over the counter supplements: aspirin, Magnesium, Vitamin D, fish oil, etc...

Me, too. Love cracked black pepper on most anything.

Unless that's low sodium turkey, the sandwich really isn't that healthy. Bad carbs = Bad results. Switch that to wheat bread, bruh. (Air pockets don't matter, and don't make it any healthier)
