Moving from Huffman would be the easiest. Kid was probably in a hurry to get to his meth lab

Speed limit is 30 mph in my neighborhood, but people frequently speed through the longer stretches.

I always take my time, but one day had a woman jump out in front of car screaming. She thought I was driving too fast because there were kids in this neighborhood. It still pisses me off because I wasn't driving fast at all. Very strange.

frick that sign. keep your dog in the backyard like you should instead of roaming the streets. a few of my neighbors have dogs that just sit in the middle of the street and stare at me when im trying to drive. i have to get out and chase them out of the road. frickin annoying.

Someone that lives in my neighborhood apparently gets their jollies by going into the grass shoulder every time it rains and throwing mud all over the white fence leading into the neighborhood. I've wanted so badly to drop some caltrops there and let whoever the jackass is learn the hard way. Someone recently put a closed circuit cam there, but no telling of that will actually stop it.

I've heard that an old fire hose filled with sand is a great make-shift speed-bump.

I agree with this. In my neighborhood, you're breaking HOA covenants if your mutt is out running around without a leash so I give zero fricks if a guy gets angry after his dog gets hit.

As for kids, yeah people ought to slow down a little but if your kid can't see a car coming at them doing 35 in a 30 then he/she doesn't need to be playing in the street unsupervised.

Mine don't.

Back in the day, circa 1978, young punks used to be flying down Haring Rd from Vets to West Esplanade. My friend lived on the corner of Ithaca and Haring.

My friend's dad hear's a young punk flying towards West Esplanade down Haring, picks up a round stepping stone, and make a perfectly times discuss throw with it that hit the speeding Nova right in the passenger side door.

The speeding Nova locks up the breaks, and when he does, my dad's friend starts running towards him on Haring Rd.

Speeding Nova driver sees the wrath in my friend's dad's eye, and spins out, toward West Esplanade, never to be heard from again.

So, that's one way. Throw a stepping stone at them.

Don't know.

Happened to us in 1978, when speeding kids looked at dents in there door as the price of speeding when kids dads were around.

I remember seeing a yard sign online once that stated something like " Slow down, if you hurt my kids you won't need a lawyer; you'll need a mortician

This clearly and succinctly expresses my sentiments as well.

On my street. I put up an authentic "slow- children at play" sign and the DOT took it down and hauled it off. I asked about the speed bump and was denied. I try to get a good look at the speeding driver and car and have gone to their house. Usually the parents are happy to help out.

Hell I speed on my own road. They have 6 stop signs in about a 3/4 mile stretch. Ours is the through street, and only one of these is a 4-way stop. Most streets just branch off to the right or left. Don't know why a yield sign on the side streets were not an option. And it is a 25 mph speed limit. Which might have been fine back in the day when the place was built 50 years ago and cars were not what they are today.

And apparently my driveway and my neighbors are the ones where people start texting after the last stop sign, since my mailbox has been hit twice, and theirs at least 3 times in the time I've lived here. I thought about building a big brick mailbox to frick someone's car up if they hit it again, but then I'd have a bigger mess to clean up and more money to replace it.

I am ready to move because of this issue. I understand the whole backyard thing but when people end up taking out my mailbox and end up in my yard that's a different story.
