Why? Seems like a good deal for both sides if this happens. Those opposing St. George don't give a damn about education and just want some St. George money to squander on failing schools and unions, which they would get from the mall and hospital taxes. St. George supporters, of which I am one, would get good public schools and local government. Taxes would be higher in St. G but would be offset by a better quality of life, higher property values, and savings on tuition. I'm in.

I guess it's not important that the proposed SG budget showing $60 million in expenditures would not be impacted by losing $38 million in sales taxes.
