St. George wouldn't and couldn't exist without Baton Rouge. Yet some residents want to be able to keep all the benefits without any of the costs of the relationship. I'll repeat... it's chickenshit greed. And I'm not a greedy person.

Show up at the bill's public hearing & ask Nevers your questions. Or, do you only sit on the internet and whine?

Are you admitting that your incoherent posts and your obvious memory issues result from an alcohol addiction? That actually makes some sense......

I'm making an observation.

You act irrationally when challenged. You lose your flair for writing and resort to name calling and other childish tactics.

I was giving you a way out. Just say you had one too many and maybe some here will excuse your rude behavior .

What's one more half truth anyway?

For you, half truths would be a 50% improvement. Like when you claimed today I said Nevers bill would not impact SG when any sober poster would know and remember that I wrote that Nevers was quoted as claiming his bill would not affect SG. What is it about you SG supporters having to lie?

And what's the deal with none of the SG organizers contacting Nevers about his bill until a reporter prompts them to contact him to set up a meeting? Do they know they are failing to get enough signatures and had decided to resort to using Nevers' bill as a face saver by telling everyone they failed only because of the proposed legislation?

Am I the only person who suspects they might not show up for their meeting with Nevers tomorrow? They have a history of backing out of meetings at the last minute.

So you failed to answer the question. You are greedy by definition. You fail.

I don't live in the area but agree to allowing people to have a choice.

Funny again how it's not greedy when YOU want someone else's money but it is greedy if people want to keep their own money have have more control over it.

So I guess you will never travel outside your beloved parish. If you do, by your definition you are greedy!

Your argument is by far the dumbest argument out there.

Senator Nevers(D) from Bogalusa

Heard this guy on the radio this morning. Sounded like a toothless retarded good ole boy. He had trouble explaining what problems would occur if SG were to leave EBR. Just had vague talking points and when asked to give details, he couldn't.

Does that really surprise anyone?

The guy has no direct knowledge of what is going on and is obviously a front man for the Democrat status quo.

Keep in mind Nevers is pushing the legislature to buck Jindal and take the Federal Medicaid dollars associated with Obamacare.

He is not some good govt. type who happened to "drive by".

It's greed when it's ungrateful and when it's self-serving beyond any compassion or other social consideration. I'm not greedy.

Russian,

No. I only go as trashy as LP takes me haha

Double D,

He sounded like an idiot, party only politician. They run amuck now days. He was basically blabbing Kips vague talking points, because he is probably too dumb to know what is really going on. But that got me wondering, WTF is an idiot from Bogalusa doing worrying about BR affairs? Again, idiot party only politicians.

With all that said, both sides have flaws, but if SG is really about school reform, I could support it, though I do not have a dog in the race.

No doubt. SG has had quite a few missteps in their efforts to form a city. They could do a better job with their public relations, but considering most of the people directing the effort are not full time political people you can understand some of the problems they are having.

But at least our guys aren't calling opponents members of the Taliban or racists, and we don't have people from outside the parish acting on our behalf in the legislature.

The entire process began when the independent school district was shot down twice. To the credit of the independent school district proponents; they have kept fighting. Having been told they needed to form a city by opponents blocking their efforts, they took on the challenge and now we are where we are now because of that.

No telling how Nevers fits into the entire equation. maybe we'll find out soon.

The latest from BR Business Report:

LINK

quote:

—If a bill approved by a Senate committee today becomes law, organizers of the city of St. George incorporation drive would have to gain enough signatures in time to get their referendum on the Nov. 4 ballot or will have to wait until 2016. SB 674 would set a moratorium on incorporation elections until January 2016, in order to allow a committee to study possible changes in the current law and come up with recommendations for the 2015 legislative session. Sen. Ben Nevers, D-Bogalusa, said one needed change would be to put time limits on petition drives. "Now you can file a petition and it can go on forever," he said. "This causes concern in the business community." Sen. Page Cortez, R-Lafayette, agreed: "We need to put a period on some of these processes." Before today's committee meeting, Nevers told LaPolitics that he met with St. George representatives, who asked to be taken out of his bill. But he agreed only to submit an amendment that would give groups with existing petition drives until Jan. 1 to have an election. In committee, however, he deferred to Sen. Yvonne Dorsey-Colomb's amendment to require the election be held by Nov. 4. Sen. Bodi White, R-Central, a supporter of the St. George effort, asked her to push the date in her amendment to Dec. 4, but she declined. The bill passed without objection. Afterwards, Colomb and Nevers said they were willing to work with White on more possible changes to the bill.

But what about your boy Rev C.L. saying BR is a Dragon that needs to be slayed?

quote:

"There are dragons, fire-breathing dragons," Rev. C.L. Bryant said Thursday night. "Dragons with money. Dragons with ulterior motives. Dragons who do not have your interests at heart, who want to stop you from doing what you know is the right thing, the time is right, right now, to do it."

quote:

"The question is again, what are you prepared to do,"
