If you don't know how to drive a stick you have no business getting behind the wheel of your friend's porche. Seriously.

THis!!!

You are about to lose a friend.

Nobody can 'learn to drive a stick shift' in one day good enough to ensure you won't grind the gears at least once - or peel out with wheels spinning - or stall the engine.

You friend is not going to be impressed that you are fiddling around with his 100K car knowing you don't have the experience to protect it.

Fess up - and thank him for the gesture. Tell him you just learned how to handle a stick shift yesterday - and then if he says 'go ahead and give it a try' have at it.

BUT - if you try to pretend you know how to use a stick shift, he will know within two minutes that you don't. If I were him, I'd be pissed.
