Trading out of the first round

Anybody like that idea and if so what types moves can we make with it. Maybe get another early 2nd rounder from someone this yr (late 30s pick) and their first rounder in next years draft. Use it to get Van Noy and Landry, or Matthews first then Stanley Jean Baptiste. Theyre combos that wouldn't be bad. Idk you tell me it's not an absolutely terrible idea but I know what I'd rather.

If all the first round WRs are gone I wouldn't mind it especially if someone like Bridgwater falls.

I've been thinking it might be the best idea for some time now.
Outside of Mosely, there's not many in the first round (that would reasonably be in our neighborhood) that I really, really want.
Might be good to trade back if he's not there.

Great idea but you have to have a dancing partner to go to that dance. If one of the big 3 QBs fall to the 27th pick, there might be a possibility of this happening...not much of a possibility but still a possibility (this FO has shown the desire to move up on occasions but not down).

Jeff Duncan hopes so. That way he can keep putting out lazy arse mock drafts that don't even address the Saints.

I was going to put a spin on this trading back.
With the new CBA, 1st rounders have a '5th year team option' on a player. Is it worth it to you guys to trade back into the top-mid 2nd round (where matthews is projected to go) and lose that 5th year option for a 3rd rounder (going based off of the draft value chart).
I have a hard time picking to be honest. A potential depth player and matthews for 4 years or matthews for 5 years.
