Jarvis will be overlooked, this draft is stacked and there is some bad press on Jarvis' combine and pro day. I like the saints to grab him in the 5th and he will produce like Stills did.

He only helped himself today from going from a 4.77 to a 4.58
Well, that's true in a way. His perceived value didn't fall with the 4.77 though because most realized it wasn't real. If he had come out today and ran a 4.77, he wouldn't have sniffed the first 3 rounds.
I've been wrong before, but I think he'll be there at 58. And, I think the Saints will pass. Feel free to disagree.

I think Landry will be there in the 3rd for the Saints. No way he gets past the 3rd though.

Found this on rotoworld:
quote:
LSU WR Jarvis Landry ran a pair of 4.58 forties at the Tigers' Pro Day on Wednesday.
Landry also dropped "three to four passes" in what is being described as a "rough" day. This all comes on the heels of a disastrous Combine that saw Landry run a painfully-slow 4.77 forty before dropping out of the drill altogether with a calf problem. He was also significantly shorter than LSU listed him in college. Landry is staring at a slide possibly into the 4-7 round range.

We'll be pressing our luck waiting til the 3rd round. It might look like a slight overdraft at #58 to some, but if you watch every LSU game, you have seen some absolutely ridiculous catches by Landry. He likes to block. He likes to hit. He comes back to the ball. He doesn't allow INT's. Everything that touches his hands stays in his hands. If you look at stats there is a ton to dislike. However, if you watched him ball, you know that there is no way this guy fails at the pro level save a freakish injury. Dude is just too much of a gamer.

Not sure if serious. Obviously haven't watched him enough. If we get him late 2nd round, I will be ecstatic. Will be a really good pro for a long time
I've watched every single game he's played as a Tiger. I don't get the fascination with Landry. Besides physicality and hands there's not much to like about his game. He was able to beat CBs due to scheme and hands most of the time. I think he's a good receiver, but I don't see him being a difference maker in the NFL. He doesn't have the elusiveness. I think he's going to have a hard time beating corners in the league.

I'm an LSU homer but if the same guy came out of...say Neb.....would there be all of this excitement over him. Average size and mediocre speed and basically one year of good college production. If NO drafted him before the 3rd I'd be disappointed and hope for the best.

His time improvement got him closer to #58 from the downside.
#7-9 of WRs, my tiers-
Watkins, Evans by mid 1st
Lee, Cooks, Beckham 1st- early 2nd
Robinson, Adams, Matthews, Benjamin 2nd
Moncrief, Landry, Richardson 2nd-3rd
That's 12 deserving WRs by around #58. That's a lot! In the past ten years the average number of WRs by #58 is 7.1. Twice 10 were taken at the most.
Notable picks in the #58 range as I scanned-
2013
Keenan Allen #76
2012
Alshon Jeffrey #45
2011
Torrey Smith #58
2010
Golden Tate #60
2009
Mike Wallace #84
2008
DeSean Jackson #49
2007
Steve Smith #51
2006
Greg Jennings #52
2005
Vincent Jackson #61

Most definitely helped him. Could see him being an option in a wr needy draft but as stacked as this one is in that position....no.

I think Landry will be a 4th round pick, personally.
And while I would love to have him, I really hope we have 2 receivers by then. I am of the opinion that it is our biggest need and should be addressed in full force.

I think most here are forgetting in todays game if you have great hand and run good routes, thats the biggest thing with how dbs are handcuffed. Speed is a bit overrated. If his size isnt an issue a top team with a good qb will grab him early
Posted on 4/9/14 at 10:59 pm to NawlinsTiger9
He will be a lot like almadola and walker. Across the middle receiver who has deceptive speed and can catch the ball with occasional deep ball.

Dude is a grown arse man on the field in every aspect. He's the best receiver in the draft as far as toughness goes. So yea it wouldn't matter the school. Just obviously since he's home grown we may give him a little more praise than normal.
