Measurement tech is not a bad job to have offshore. You will get alot of experience and make more money the more years you have in. There are alot of land jobs that you could move to also.

i went to college and still work offshore, was ops for 3 years now ive moved up into compliance, next step will be onshore.
you will either love it or hate it.
in my current situation i love it. the money is great, and the time off is even better.
try it out, give it 3-5 months, you will know by then if you like it .
