Trade up with Arizona, combo the 1st and 3rd, get CJ Mosley. Pick a WR in the 2nd, C with the 4th.

whoever loses the position battle. You can't go into the draft thinking we should lower our picks since our roster is currently full. There are many positions that could be upgraded, or else we would've been blowing Denver out in Indi last season.
Not worried about making the spot; let the best man win. I'm worry what that might do to the already enormous cap problem come next season. If you cut a guy that creates dead money to make room, we're digging an even deeper hole. Oh well, that's Mickey's problem.

I personally would rather us trade out of the 1st and pick up an extra high pick in next year's draft
frick that.
I will do what you did not do... back up my opinion. This year the draft is loaded at the top with talent that would be 1st round picks in other years. If we were to trade from 27 to say 40, we would still most likely be getting a pick of a player that we would target at 27 (and also a 1st round grade in other drafts). On top of that, we will now secure a pick in next year's first round from a team that picked high this season, thus meaning that the likelihood of us picking high with their pick next year is in our favor.

We're more likely to move back than move up in this draft.

This draft - would not trade up.
There is talent to be had just staying put. I can see day 1 starters through the 3rd round.

No one in the first round unless a complete shock happens and a top 10 player slips to the twenties

I dont keep up with the Jones as far as college players are concerned, but from what the majority of posters in the know here have stated, its pretty amazing how much legit talent is flooding this years NFL draft. Theres prolly deep 2nd rounders that could go in the 1st any other year.

Depths of the draft are reasons to also not drop back and take advantage of the talent available at your spot or we can use the extra 5 pick to move up draft w our 3rd or 4 th pick

I wouldn't really want to trade up in this draft. We're in a pretty ideal spot where someone could get an itch and move up for a QB at the backend of the 1st but also should have plenty of players at 27 that could help the Saints either this year as significant contributors or as starters next year.
Who knows who could drop to us:

Michigan State CB Darqueze Dennard has three team visits scheduled in the next two weeks, according to NFL.com's Gil Brandt.
Dennard is set to visit the Rams on Thursday and then the Bengals and Jets next week. A report surfaced yesterday which said the NFL was not as high on Dennard's talent as the media is, so there is a chance the veteran corner could be selected in the second-round. Dennard excels in press coverage and staying physical with receivers throughout their route.

All I know is what I saw on the field. The guy was an absolute stud in the 3 games I saw him in and, clearly, the best player on their defense.

I wouldn't trade up this year. Draft class is too deep.

I hope a QB drops forcing a QB needy team to want to come up and we hold them hostage.
We can't hold anyone hostage for a QB. Cleveland (who needs a QB) picks before us. And 4 out of the 5 teams behind us (Carolina, New England, 49ers, Denver & Seattle) aren't taking a QB.
A trade? Maybe. A trade raping? No.

Clinton-Dix
I'd hate to see them give up their 1st and 2nd for any of these guys.....but if I had to choose one of them it would be Mosely, he'd give them something they presently don't have.

Of that list, I take Dennard in a heartbeat.
Other potentials would be if Barr or Ebron fell.
