Depending on where you live, you could become an Uber driver.
Nashville, and this is a very good possibility. It or "Lyft" which is their competitor which offers better hours.
I would love to give golf lessons to kids because I love golf, but I doubt I could get many people to pay for that.
Wonder if I could offer manual labor on craigslist? I love being outdoors and I love landscaping. Maybe people need help on the weekends?
Also, I thought about dogsitting and/or babysitting. But I'm not sure many people hire men for those gigs.
And I wasn't trying to brag about my job. Just trying to give a well-rounded picture of my situation. Its not dire, just has me wanting more.

So before I got married/kids, basically throughout college and after college, I worked as a baseball umpire / football referee. Mainly youth sports leagues. I called a few JV games, but I would say 90 percent of them, at least were youth games.
Most associations are begging for help. You can get trained. The pay is decent, and it's all nights and weekends. 10 years ago, I was getting $65 for a double header, which took maybe four hours.
Plus, there were two other benefits. It forced me to stay in shape, and it allowed me to stay involved in sports.
Of course you have to have really, really thick skin. =)

Go check out TaskRabbit.
People post odd jobs and how much they are willing to pay for them.
eta: nevermind, nashville isn't included yet

You might be surprised... I think that will depend upon your skill level tho.
There is a marketing research firm right by my main office, I will probably do 5-10 studies in a given year that usually pay $100+ each. This isn't reliable or consistent but it is a no brainer when they ask me to participate.
There are all kinds of kickball/softball/intramural leagues out there that always need refs and people like that...
Uber/Lyft will be the best option if you are looking for a consistent deal that offers decent wages.

I'm no expert but my guess is that Juan and Jesus are much cheaper.
Refereeing is solid for someone looking for something to do for a year or two, I did BREC softball while in school. No experience required, they'll train you.
If you want to do something you enjoy that might have more of a future though there are other options. I found that I enjoyed computer programming, paid my way through grad school with side jobs, and now it's a big part of what I do for a living. My degree wound up being largely useless.
