I say if he's 100% healthy he'll surprise us with a late 4.5, the time we all expected

4.6 and it won't make or break him.

I think they (scouts and gm's)just want to see he is healthy.

yeah i would say the 4.55-4.60 range is a good bet. but he plays way above what his drills indicate, so I don't think it matters regardless.

Him and Hill will. I think Hill could get down to 4.58 and Landry should be faster than 4.55. I've seen a lot of times jump at pro day.

Jarvis is not a fast WR and you really see that when you look at his film but he has Elite hands and is very physical for his size. I would be surprised if he ran a 4.5. He will get drafted in the 2nd or 3rd because of his toughness and ball skills.

if he runs over a 4.7 it would break his stock.

His vertical is just as important IMO. He needs to show the capability of being an explosive slot receiver.

There is no way that his vertical is as bad as it was at pro day. we saw him jump higher than that while at LSU. For comparison, Lance Moore had a 40" vertical at his pro day

He's an idiot if he ran injured at the combine though

Agree. His time WILL be better! You are more in your comfort zone, and the times are hand/stopwatch. The NFL combine times are started by hand on first movement and the laser captures the finish. It is the reason you see about a tenth of a second difference between hand and their "official" time.

I also agree that his forty is somewhat irrelevant, as he is a PLAYER! He is what you look for in toughness, physical, contested catches, etc. He will be just fine!

Contested catches aren't really going to be seen as a plus if it is due to an inability to get separation. NFL dbs are going to have the ability to go up and fight him for balls too

I don't think it is the case, but the bad vertical just shows a lack of overall explosiveness at this point.

There are plenty of smart receivers with great hands that can't make a roster due to lack of separation. Hell, Andy Tanner runs great routes, has great hands, and can't make the Saints roster even with all the injuries. Mike Hass was pretty similar to Jarvis as far as pass catching ability goes

For comparison, Drew Brees had a better vertical and a similar 40 time at the combine...

His agent shouldn't have let him participate in the combine if he was injured. He had to be injured.

He really needs to get a good vertical at pro day

Saw Jarvis at the Friday baseball game. He was videoing Odell throw out the first pitch. I asked how his 40 was and he said much better. What that means I have no idea but it sounded like it had improved from his stand point.
