The biggie is the Louisiana refundable credit. They'll pay you half of your installed cost (up to $12,500 total incentive)
Then there is te federal 30% of job cost tax credit.
does anyone qualify?

Some states are at that level now.
I do agree however that 30% capacity should not be a goal, just the maximum.
Relative to Louisiana, the PSC has rules that utilities can shut down after only 0.5% of their grid is solar.
Three utilities have ended net metering already, and entergy is getting damn close.

Anyone who pays for the job to go on a "single family detached dwelling in Louisiana"

Depends on the system type. Battery systems generally need battery replacements every 10-12 years.
Non battery systems are fully under warranty that entire time and only need to be cleaned off about twice annually.

That's the basic concept of solar.

Is there a way for Solar Flares to be accurately predicted?

Been had that...
But seriously, for your average 4 person family in a 2500 sq. ft home, what are we looking at? Upfront/out of pocket total cost, then the bottom line after tax credits...

Exactly. They excluded duplex's and apartments last legislative session.

Read my response to Lester on page one. Show me your electric bill and I can answer you.

Oops nevermind, I see my original question probably doesn't fall under hooking a home up for solar power.

This ....and how much drilling do you do to attach all those panels to the roof?
Do you sell American panels or are they from Red China?

Wondering this also. Who makes your panels?
I've been thinking about getting into the solar industry. Just curious.

Brother, when I tell you I took off work for a month last summer to fight the politicians and the lobbyists over that exact issue, I ain't lying,
We won too. Tge state, as of January this year, won't rebate foreign made equipment
I've always sold American made stuff

Ok so, 30K to 35K upfront cost.
Then minus 30% from the government, so lets say 10K.
Then $12,500 from the state as per the limt...
So in the end we are looking at putting up 32.5K upfront, and getting 22.5K back after taxes? I assume it's a tax credit the following year?

Lots of drilling on the roof, if you get a roof install. I recommend it. It's cheaper, and stronger.
In south la, you need hurricane resistant stuff. You'll either have to anchor hard to the frame of your house (dozens of lag bolts into your rafters, through the shingles) or thousands of pounds of concrete underground to keep your ground rack firm.
Personally, I'd never trust anyone to do this that wasn't experienced, insured, licensed (duh) but most importantly local and established.
Let an out of town rebate chaser install it for $50 cheaper and you'll regret it
