Harris vs Jennings Spring game

Harris was 11-28 for 195 yds passing 75 yds rushing 1 rushing td and he was also never sacked and never threw a pick.
Jennings was 9-17 for 157 yds passing with 1 td he threw 2 picks which where returned for tds and was sacked 4 times. He was sacked three times in a row at one point.
To me Harris had a much better presence in the pocket and his arm strength was obviously the best out there. The scary part is he has been on campus for 4 months. If he continues to improve there is no way he can be denied the starting job.

Harris looks like a great QB with potential, but you can't throw Jennings under the bus because of one spring scrimmage.

Your right, I didn't realize it until my twelve year old son said "why is this even a competition". Harris looked a lot better and is lot more confident, I hope Jennings gets it together so Harris can sit a year, but it's probably not going to happen. Sad truth, but Harris WILL play more snaps than Jennings this year.

Gee, thanks for the insight.

I'm glad Les isn't known as a 2 QB system guy. Harris is obviously more physically gifted than AJ, but is this just a spring game and lots of people are overreacting?

I went to the Spring game thinking that AJ was the starter, and it was ridiculous to think a true freshman could truly unseat him, or anyone else. But I have to say, watching that game, I could see BH being the starter. AJ looked exactly the same as he did in the bowl game. Not an ounce of difference. And when BH switched to the first team, he was WAY more productive.
Outside of that, their arm strengths and running ability isn't even comparable. BH by a mile.
I guess my thinking is, I watched AJ in last year's spring game, and when you consider a year in the program, with a bowl start under his belt, he hasn't progressed any that's visible. Maybe even seems to have less confidence. I wonder if that's the difference in reactions that some athletes have to being the backup to the starter.
If BH ends up being the starter, the playbook is going to be VERY limited, though. But hell, all LSU is going to do is pound the run game, and short and intermediate passes anyway this year. Who knows.

This. I've read a lot of good things about BH in spring practice but thought there's slim chance a true freshman will unseat Jennings or Rettig. Seeing BH play in person and the way Anthony Jennings played leads me to believe there's actually more of a chance than I originally thought.
INB4 it's just a spring game.
