I think one can definitely be pro DP in theory but against its application in our current judicial system.

Bingo!

Hell yes the death penalty is fair and just as long as guilty men are convicted 100 percent of the time and innocent men are acquitted 100 of the time. Simple reason tells me that that is not the case.

Having said that I cannot remember losing any sleep over someone that was sentenced to death and executed.

This sums it all up for me. There's been too many cases of people spending nearly their entire lives on death row only to later be cleared of all charges. That is reprehensible to me. We get one life and a group of strangers trusting in a flawed system took it away.
