Well with all the weather that passed through last Friday I got a call I had been dreading. I had a pine tree slice my camp in half. Went up there Sunday and salvaged what I could, but the trailer is gonna be a loss. Now im in the market for a camper. Btw anyone need any pine, planning to clear cut every pine tree on my 2 acres. Had 9 pine trees and one oak that either broke or was uprooted.

Ouch man. We cut trees and have been working since the storm in cenla. Your gonna think I'm crazy, but before you spend money hauling that out and buying a camper and end up with something smaller, get a price on fixing it. My dad had a huge oak go through one of his and he framed it back in the middle and put metal back on then sheet rock. Will prob be cheaper and keep a bigger camp. His did just as much damage. Got everything but the frame.

Damn! That sucks! Sorry to see that man. Nothing worse than seeing your shite torn up. My deer camp was robbed this past year and they tore shite up while stealing. That's definitely a bad feeling.

that's terrible
sorry for your loss, brother
i don't like trees, the only thing they are good for is burning for warmth and cover for hunting

Looks like a lot of dead ones there. At the least remove any dead or diseased trees.

yea before replacing the trailer and re-stringing the electric line I plan to cut down all the pines near the house as well as anything dead. At least now that there's nothing left to worry about trees falling on we can cut them down easy. As far as repairing the trailer we discussed it, but decided instead to go with the travel trailer so that we can tow it up there or anywhere else we want. the trailer itself was almost 40 years old so it was nearing the end of its service life before the trees fell

Even if you don't have insurance on the trailer, your homeowner's will probably cover the contents in the trailer. Typically up to 10% of your contents coverage on the house. I am not saying you need to make that claim, just that the option probably exist...

Really?
For all the money I pay my insurance company, I have never read the entire policy. I should be embarrassed.

Most policies cover 10% of the contents limit away from the home. When a car is broken into, the contents fall to a homeowners claim if you have it...

person anywhere in the world. When personal

This limitation does not apply to personal
property in a newly acquired principal residence
for the 30 days immediately after you begin to
move property there or to personal property in
student dormitory, fraternity or sorority housing.

Sorry to see that, bud. Damn shame when crap like that happens.
If you don't mind me asking, what are you going to do with the trailer? Can it be hauled off with a truck in that condition? Will someone have to chop it up further?
I ask because I have a trailer on some property that I inherited and its older than balls. I'll have to deal with it at some point, but I'm praying for either lightning or a tornado to pick it up and drop it a few parishes over.

plan to dismantle it, sell what I can for scrap and haul the remainder to the dump. We were able to remove the items of monetary/sentimental value we wanted from the interior of the trailer the only other thing I may grab is the Stove. Everything else on the inside was vintage vinyl 70's furniture and second/third hand matresses.

Suck the big one, but thank God no one was in it at the time.

Lanana Bay area, camp is near the old Mathews lakeview Lodge. Fistfighter very true because usually when we stayed up there I'd sleep in the living room next to where that tree trunk impaled the floor

Same here. I was up in Harrisonburg last Friday when that shite blew through and it was down right nasty for about 30 minutes. We were in a double wide and well on our way to being plastered. Thankfully none of the pine trees snapped.
