You are right next to San Marco so thats where you need to spend most of your time. Lots of cool restaurants - a couple tapas places and some good bars. Been a while since I been there.

Just across the river, off the riverside exit, is five points. Another nice area to take a stroll that is about 7 min drive from your hotel.

The landing, literally across the river out the windo from your hotel , is pretty cool. I think Paris Hilton had a nightclub there if your into that kind of thing. Its worth a trip over there.

I would still take a day and go down to the beach. Get on hwy. 90 (beach blvd) just down from your hotel and take it all the way down. Will take you about 20-25. Beach blvd ends right into Jax Beach, there is a pier and some restaurants and bars. Jax Beach is a really cool place. Angies Subs is on beach just before it ends. I cant recommend it enough , its a great local surf place and has a great feel for the local jax beach crowd

I'll be in Jacksonville for 5 or 6 days so I could get out, I know they have a couple local breweries I plan on hitting up and sampling some local beer

The owner of Angie's is a close friend of the family and a staunch Libertarian supporter to boot. It is a cool place with awesome subs. We will be there in a few weeks as my wife is from Atlantic Beach.
