A few weeks back, my husband started a sentence with, "I've been thinking about us".
I immediately said, "Oh, that doesn't sound good."
Turned out by "us" he meant the USA, with respect to the situation in Ukraine.

I don't know why, but I found this funny as shite. Probably because I can relate

Anytime we know the correct answer it's just a mistake

Ditto.
Women are just operate in a vastly different way when it comes to their inner monologue and how they process things in comparison to us. Honesty, the key to a good marriage - and it's made mine run very smoothly - is talking everything out and making sure the wrong inference isn't made or the wrong perception given in a certain situation.
For example, I got takeout for my wife and me at a nice restaurant a few Fridays ago. We handled the order over text, which was a bad idea in the first place, but she wanted lobster. After a few other things added in the text (i.e. honeydos) I replied "lobster?" I meant it as a question to be answered in the affirmative, like "okay, you want lobster - anything else?" but she thought I was making the implication it was too expensive or something and proceeded to send me 1000 texts in a row about how we don't go out that much and fine whatever we can get takeout from somewhere cheaper and you know your steak is expensive too. I finally just said eff it and called her and said "hey, I wasn't pushing back, I meant you're wanting lobster, as in 'is that your final choice.'"
Disaster averted.
I should probably also add that my wife is as low maintenance and non-crazy as they come, and even she has her moments like that.
