They also continue offering hobby supplies in a country that.... allows abortions. They probably even sell them to people that have had an abortion.

No one here has heard of moral investment advisors or mutual funds? It's not contradictory that the owners care enough to take on the Fed Gov but not enough to seek out investment funds that adhere to their apparently very strict moral code?

NOPE!
Not in the least

I don't find it hypocritical at all. It might be if they continue using the same funds.

Even THAT is a stretch.
I see a huge difference in mutual fund investing and the Fed Gov FORCING you to provide anything.
I think this is silliness

You are against contraception but invest and profit from contraception...hmmm.

Not only is the mutual fund a stretch but look at these companies:
I don't know much about the first two, but Pfizer, Aetna and Humana, gimme a break.
Including insurance companies that then offer packages to sell birth control?
That's like 3 to 4 degrees of separation.

These companies include Teva Pharmaceutical Industries, which makes Plan B and ParaGard, a copper IUD, and Actavis, which makes a generic version of Plan B and distributes Ella. Other holdings in the mutual funds selected by Hobby Lobby include Pfizer, the maker of Cytotec and Prostin E2, which are used to induce abortions; Bayer, which manufactures the hormonal IUDs Skyla and Mirena; AstraZeneca, which has an Indian subsidiary that manufactures Prostodin, Cerviprime, and Partocin, three drugs commonly used in abortions; and Forest Laboratories, which makes Cervidil, a drug used to induce abortions. Several funds in the Hobby Lobby retirement plan also invested in Aetna and Humana, two health insurance companies that cover surgical abortions, abortion drugs, and emergency contraception in many of the health care policies they sell.

I'm against the Fed Gov force, too, but only because I think it is a violation of my freedom not on some religious belief that I only believe in when it's convenient.

Well, they're not being forced to invest that way. They're choosing to. That's where I can see some hypocrisy.
If it's just coming to their attention, there are about a zillion ways you can invest. Move to a new fund.

You are against paying for your employee's contraception but invest and profit from contraception.
And, stop acting as if the contraception play was specifically selected and a major part.
You guys are reaching. It is silliness

yes, there is a difference one is a cost and one is income.
It would be quite easy for hobby lobby to avoid these investments if they really cared about the topic. They don't. They care about making a point.
Its just political grandstanding on their part, and well this article too.

Technically, health insurance is also a 3rd party financial instrument.

Major part of what? Their challenge? That is the very basis of it.

I'm guessing that you people are as dumb as you pretend when it comes to pension fund investing.
Many companies keep an "hands off" relationship when it comes to their pension plans. They hire someone else to do the investing and plan management for them.
I know many insurance companies that hire other companies to manage their pension funds to eliminate the possibly of any conflict of interest charges. These companies could well manage their own funds; they do it for other entities. It's a big financial world out there folks. Learn more about it before you get your collective panties in a wad.

Well I'm satisfied Hobby Lobby is tainted with the dirty sin of contraception, I'm getting my dick picks framed somewhere else.
